Hi. I bought DDR1066Mhz, but I can´t seting up in Bios the right option because the dividers. Someone can explain me how to do it? I see 1006 in memory divider 5:8, but I think it´s not the right way.I have an Intel E6850 with an Asus Maximus Formula. Thanks. Smile

change your fsb?!

If you really have this divider running and your memory clocks are 1006, you have underclocked your cpu....
It should run at 9x333 - Yours is running ~314.

Download a program called CPU-Z and it will give you a better picture of what your speeds are/should be.

Just to clear better, I have 9x333 who gives me 3000Mhz. But the only way that I can set 1066 in RAM is using the dividers, not using 1:1.

You should be able to select ddr2-1065 Mhz in the dram frequency option of your bios. The bios handles the divider itself which in your case would indeed be 5:8.

Yeah, that´s right. But with the divider I lose some performance. . Should´t be 1:1?

No. The divider actually makes sure that you don't lose any performance. Because the default speed of your cpu (333 Mhz) is lower than the default speed of your ram (533 x 2 Mhz), a ratio of 1:1 would actually run your ram at lower speed than its rated speed.

swingman is right...

and I guess you wasted some money pal... DDR2-800 would have been more then enough for your system...

well - go and overclock your cpu Cool
