Well only decent sci fi in the last 3 years was sunshine.... nothing else comes to mind. I haven't seen or heard anything sci fi in the last years. Solaris? With clooney? I robot with smith? Seriously... sci fi is pretty much dead now. indie movies are taking over. drama. family dysfunction. all that is taking over. you wont see much hollywood sci fi for a while now. It's all comic book movies, indie, family dyscuntion drama/comedy, and 'original' flicks. Nothing else.
I can't even name one sci fi that came out after sunshine.  Or know of any sci fi that came out after sunshine

You forgot about Children of Men, which was excellent.
Sci-fi ain't dead, just certain movie genres goes in waves rather than streams, if you know what I mean. |

So sunshine is good eh? Gotta get it. Ive heard conflicting reviews on it. Some peopel say its the worst movie theyve seen, others the best. Guess I'll watch it and see for myself.
I need some new sci fi.
Like fuck, I cant wait till July for the 5th season of Stargate Atlantis
