By this time I'm on seventh heaven. Since she cheated on me, I can do anything I fucking want. I can sleep with that girl from the coffee shop downstairs, or that 27-yo russian choir singer. Anyone. And she can't get upset.
I can even break up with her now, without too much trouble. Perhaps I should have made a bigger fuss, but I couldn't contain my happiness.

Point of this thread - were you every happy when you got cheated on? And, if you don't have any personal experience, would my being happy (somewhat improper emotion - she didn't expect it, either) be a major hinderance if I want to break up sometime soon?

I wasn't happy. For numerous reason. First off, I think it disrespectful to your partner as a) your lying b) being unfaithful c) could pass along a virus d) violation of your body (would you want to fuck your girl knowing she just fucked someone else and could potentially be carying something?)
I think cheating is low. If your thinking of it either you need to figure out what wrong with the relationship and fix it or break up with the person before you pursue someone else.
Thats my opinion anyway

The virus thing is way overblown. The probabilities are low enough not to worry about it too much. And if you are too careful, you'll never get to do the nasty stuff. Like having a many-some; and at the end of the day, I'd rather die from having too much sex, than living to 102.
I'm breaking up before summer, that's my goal. And yeah, I don't mind her sleeping around. You know, in my mind it's just temporal distortion - what if she slept with someone before we met, why's that okay, and not during. That said, I cheat all the time, I just dont' get cought. Or I sorta say I was doing something else. She didn't lie, she just said she didn't mean to (tripped, fell, landed on the other guys schlong, haah). So more power to her.
Contrary to the popular belief, cheating actually brings me closer to my original partner, through the transitive property of kink. The merry month of may is shaping to be very rich in that department, anyway. As I said already, there are a lot of girls I'd really like to take the the movies, and now that my girlfriend is ehem, seeing other people, we might as well do hash-inthused (see another thread) orgy parties with some of her bi-girlfriends. One's coming over for dinner tomorrow, not that we have anything planned. :/
And then I get to break up, hopefully without too much fuss. Best deal ever.

In fact, I must confess that's the sole reason why I started this thread, to see if people find my attitude severely ubnormal. And I'll tell you where it all started : I liked this girl. A lot. Somewhere a swtich turned, and I rationalized it to the point of not caring. If my wife were to ever cheat on me I wouldn't be as happy as you are with your Girlfriend.
Also don't expect to go around poking and prodding everything that has 2 legs and expect your girlfriend not to react. Jealousy is a easy emotion for humans to have and even if both partners are cheating on each other at the same time things can still get very ugly if found out. So its not going to be hard for your girlfriend to stand against it. Perhaps if she was a very submissive woman you could do it but then again submissive women don't tend to cheat in the first place.

I do want to break up, but not because of this. We are just too different. I'm more of a home-based person, and she's more of a "let's go do shit", but she needs me to play along, or she goes does shit with someone else. I guess now I feel worse about it, than I did yesterday. But I still want to see the look on her face, when I casually drop that I slept with someone... Most people enjoy sex and that is normal. However sleeping around is not a smart thing to do for many reasons. I know I don't need to educate you as you seem intelligent and know all about it already no doubt. You simply choose to be part of the problem however. Not only do you hurt society but I think the world is full enough with 6.5 billion already and here you are putting this bastard child on the planet just to get a night of your penis feeling good? If people just followed my way STD's including aids would be gone before the youngest generation becomes elderly. Unwanted births would be at a 0% and the world would no doubt have a much less population which means less need for resources which in turn = to less hunger, disease, and even wars. The world would be a much better place.

Lets ignore the stable relationships.
