k noob question here
i've got a 2.26 gig file and want to make it fit on my 2 gig memstick

i tried compressing with winrar on best option but it only made it 50mb smaller
any suggestions? thanks

depends what kinda file it is, media files like video and audio can not be compressed much

You can try Ultra Iso compression format .ISZ
However when the files in the iso images are compressed already there is not much you can compress.

well if it's porn u out of luck

if it's a game u may try to unpack it and repack it with winrar on best compression

anyway wouldn't it be easier to burn it on dvd instead of going through all this trouble?

you could try 7zip
compresses better than rar
using the ultra option it will take a very long time, but compress it further

but if rar only took 50M(2%) off it, it's probably already compressed, and i doubt anything would compress it as far as needed (12%)
just buy a larger usb-stick
they cost pennies these days
