Ok my friend is a complete idiot, trying to guide him through burning a windows iso now through aim.... very painful.
Now i usually use REALVNC to remote connect with more techy friends, but he is behind a router etc, so i cant directly connect , i wondered if there was any software where i could make him reverse connect to my IP so i can use his desktop ? or any alternative ideas.

never tried it in practice though
and realvnc should support reverse aswell
you might want to look into tightvnc for future normal use btw.. it uses proper compression, yielding better performance

If the router at your friend has upnp enabled you can use windows remote assistance in the normal way.
If the router there does not have upnp, but you have a non-firewalled ip, or possibly a router with upnp (not sure if the last one works) then you can use remote assistance through windows messenger.
