Its 512 kilobits per second, with an average max. of 60 kilobytes per second.

There are 8 bits to a byte, so divide 512 by 8 and get 64 - thats your theoretical maximum download speed. Once TCP overheads etc. are taken into account, its usually around 55 kilobytes per second download speed.

32KBps max upload for me. Sad

Steve-O: It should be connnected at 576,000 kilobits per second (roughly 512 kilobytes per second,) which is correct for a half megabit connection. Usually home connections (here in the UK anyway) are only half duplex. To get full duplex you would probably have to pay a fortune for a business connection from you ISP. I was using a 2Mbit full duplex connection (256KBps both ways) at work until I got made redundant. I'm not sure how much they were paying for it but I think it was a lot.

Do you ever actually get 360KB/s if you use a P2P network. I always am uploading in excess of 400KB/s but because alot of people download much faster then they upload, my download speeds are crap. The only time my download is maxed is from downloading from fxp, etc.
