no dont buy another license, never buy your software....unless yougot the money go for it. but anyways, your MB should not have any affect.. just get new MB install and boot. OS should be on HD allready, just make sure you install and update ALL drivers. I would like to recomend the IP-35PRO if you are going quad core intel. peace

I'm sure the OEM versions don't need to be activated because the BIOS from the manufacturer has the licence info stored on it, so a replacement motherboard will not keep the OS licensed.
For example, i have a normal ASUS motherboard but i flashed the bios with the licence info from a DELL motherboard. I can just install vista and it's already activated with the DELL logo and everything in the welcome centre.

Re-install Vista on ur new Hardware with the OEM key printed on ur Hardware. Then click activate-- Choose Phone for activation-- call up Microsoft & ask them to give ur the confirmation ID again. Simple & steady.
They will just ask u if this is the only PC that this License is installed on, so SAY YES. Moreover with Vista, MS has given the flexibility of using ur OEM license on another hardware - YES- check out or ask MS on phone.
I don't know why people are so scared to call MS, I have done the above so many times. Infact I told them that I wanna use my Vista Ultimate OEM license from ACER Ferrari Laptop on my Desktop PC, they asked me to make sure I have un-installed it from my laptop so that a dup is not detected, & just gave me the confirmation code.
What u need to make sure is u get an Un-touched VISTA OEM DVD, most of the torrents have patches slipstreamed into them.
