Hi Guys,

I just wanted to mention to all you creative guys out there who loves simulation games, you should really take a look at this one:

http://www.gamershell.com/pc/building_co_you_are_the_architect_/screenshots.html

Link to Demo:
http://files.filefront.com/Building+Co+Demo/;9128679;/fileinfo.html

Although I don't know when it will be out in the US, it has been released in France some time ago, and it is really a fun game.

cheers

I remember playing the demo a while back when it was released. It was unstable as hell, I was unable to finish a single level without a crash (others had this as well).

Then I placed my faith in hte final version, that came but only in French...I love this kind of games but only in languages I can understand (especially because it's a rather complicated game). And it's out for a while now and not a single sign of an english version. Why bother doing an english demo if they don't make the final as well?

I had some stability issues too on my Vista machine, but I solved these issues by running the game in compability mode for Win XP.

It would be better if more people added erroneous stuff to go along with the error messages. It distracts you from wanting to punch the screen.

Apples and oranges really.

In this game you only supervise the construction of a single building. That means you will have to hire the crew, buy ALL the materials, rent vehicles, etc. You have to build every floor from the foundation to the last piece of wall-tapestry.

In some cases you are also able to make the plans yourself, not just follow the predesignated blueprints.

Saying something is better without even trying it is kind of...meh.

You are completely correct, I'm sorry. Not that this sounds interesting to me, but I should not have said a game from another genre is better.

Never mind. I'm looking forward to the new City Life too and when I was first looking at the pictures of Building&Co I was unimpressed as well. Smile

But then it turned out to be a rather good concept.

Ty for the heads up Kongo, I will give it a try.

Edit: BTW there is a BUILDING & CO FRENCH TO ENGLISH PATCH over gameburnworld, people who dare to not speak French may want to give it a try over the ReVOLVeR release. Wink

Tried the demo which has some game breaking bugs within the tutorials and you have to edit the settings.xml file in order to have a decent resolution & AA, hope that the final game -patched to 1.2- fixed most of those...

For me -under vista x64 sp1- the demo was crashing with XP compatibility mode, and not if unchecked. Smile

Lol. Pwned. Fuckin numnuts judging a game without even trying it. Proves that some people round here really do talk complete and utter shit just to try and sound informed.

Well, proves LeoNatan does at least.

gah, i hate the random problems. for instance now my guys wont fill up the foundation (got a sloopy) even if i got a power shovel and dumper, and 2 drivers. they just dont do anything. and its impossible to build on secound floor when they wont put out the foundation. anyone got any tips? i tried having the drivers assaigned to the basement, and the first floor, doesnt help. also tried to have the assaigned to the ground close to the crane.

tips?

I sent a mail to the publisher, asking them for a US release date, and also mentioned that the demo was a bit unstable.

Got the following reply:
_______________________________________________________________
Hi,
Yes, the demo was old, and since its release last November, we have now a stable version.

The game will be released in September in North America.

Best regards,
A. Da Costa

i got a hold of the full version. patched it to 1.1 and now its really good. stable and the workers understand what they need to do as long as you get them parts and station them on the right floors. and the english patch works good.
