i figured it was Godzilla(1998) the first time i saw the trailer because we all know there were still eggs in Madison Square Garden at the end of the movie but its not

I don't think they're idiots out there. The shaky bits will probably be introductory (each time they start watching the tape) quickly blending into normal steady picture.
Those stills look pretty finished to me and they are either motion blurred or totally clear, so there should be 'steady' parts.

well if there are steady parts, it will totally undo the illusion of reality this method of filmmaking is seemingly trying to go for...
i certainly HOPE the bulk of the film will be a third person perspective or something, or if not, atleast motion controlled or steady cam assisted or something, but i think it'd be the biggest disaster in recent movie making history if the entire film is shakey "blair witch cam"...

im SOOOOOOOOOO indifferent to this.
im amazed that people are this excited about it... it just looks to me like an alien blair witch movie, but with some cool visuals and the same horrible camera work... mind you, i didnt understand how half of the people here could be drooling and beating off to the speed racer image caps either... 
im not saying its going to be crap, its definately on my list of shit to see when it comes out on dvd, but its not high on my list - what exactly are you guys finding so interesting about it?

well for your sake then, i hope this isnt godzilla 2.
i hope was the russian said is true, i hope the shakey cam is just for like 30 seconds before it slips into third person camera or something... because if theyve filmed the entire film in the first person...
