OK, no "8800 have issues" or "galaxy map doesn't load" or whatever. Gameplay discussion only. This game is amazing and I think it deserves such a thread.
So what class did you guys take? I chose the soldier, but I have a pretty good feeling I'll be taking a vanguard or adept on a second run through the story.
Thanks to Rinze for keeping an eye on this thread!

Am I allowed to discuss the 360 version, or does it have to be the PC-only one? :\
Either way, I started off as a Vanguard -- finished the game, then on the PC I created a Soldier class. I thought Vanguard would be cool, but I almost never used the Biotic powers >_<

Sure, 360 gameplay is fine too, as long as it's GAMEPLAY.
I don't know, it looks cool when teammates do stuff with their biotic powers lol.

I agree with Leo, it is an amazing game. You can clearly see Bioware's quality in the game. Just like all the other RPG they created, this one is so immense and deep.
I started as Vanguard as well, I like the combination of power and bio.

Shame you can only play as a human... I love the look of the race of the bad guy (still haven't learned the names).
I also like the fat dudes race, that have to state the emotion before the sentence. They're fucking hilarious.

I like the one that looks like a fucking toad. He's massive and has funny remarks.
Maybe in ME 2, you could choose a race.

For favorite race I like the look of those Jellyfish/Slime/Tentacle thingies, (H something.) there's one of those as a shopkeeper in one of the upper citadel station buildings and it's quite happy to see you. (Nearly too happy.)
I also like the dialogue system, quite a few choices despite many of them being similar to one another in what they do and the codex function is great.
There's a ton to do in this game as well, played most of today and only recently finished the last citadel quest before leaving in the starship.
(Tried to finish everything up, finding all those 21 "units" <- to avoid spoilers, wasn't exactly easy and took quite a while.)

Exactly what I was thinking. That being said, I don't know how the story ends, so we'll see.

OK...I haven't played it yet, but I'd ask a question of you guys, as you seem to speak so highly of it:
Is this game HALF as good as the first KOTOR?
Blame! don't act!

Does anyone know of a way to edit an ini file or something as to mark certain achievements as enabled? I have the 360 version. finished it just once (since I was thinking may as well wait for the PC version) and I am not sure I want to grind out some of them again. Some of them would be piss easy to get fast (like any weapons achievement.) then restart the game. But not all.
At the very least I want to enable Hardcore mode so that I don't need to finish the game twice before I get insanity mode.

I've found soldier to be the easiest starting class as they can take the most punishment, don't have to be all that careful, and can finish most fights without being very dependant on team mates to help out. They play pretty much the same all through the game though, biotics- using classes are more varied, so they feel a bit refreshing.
Also I doubt you can choose race in ME2, as the buzz hints that you will be the same character in all three planned ME games. According to that, you'll be able to carry over the Shepard you create.
