Sniper Elite 3 is headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and next-generation platforms in 2014. Publisher 505 Games doesn’t have much to say about the title yet, but IGN reports it claimed 1.1 million sales of Sniper Elite V2, which launched in April 2012. Developer Rebellion holds the property rights, so it’s reasonably likely to self-publish a PC version, as it did with the previous game.

That would be great, also a better AI would be very welcome (as well as more focus on stealth). The sniping mechanics are fine in my opinion, the game just needs less linearity overall and more different approaches.

Russia or the Japanese occupied isles could work, Italy, France or Africa too I'd guess.
Or they'll alter the entire time era.
(Future sniper, now with valid aim assist.)
EDIT: Wasn't there a request for a German sniper campaign too?
(That way they could use a number of different settings, though I guess it's rare to use their perspective in WW2 games.)

Well they still have a large number of choices if they remain with that setting, World War 2 involved a lot of countries after all.
(Lots of weapon and other war advancements too as it went on.)

Sniper Elite developer Rebellion has told Eurogamer that Sniper Elite 3 "features a completely new story and atmospheric World War 2 setting, and a greater focus on sandbox-style sniper gameplay".
A logo and a press release will be released later today.

Well, I don't know what I want, but we already have the WW2 settings in Sniper Elite 2. I doubt they can make the setting more interesting.

Yes but its still in somehow unpopular front - Afrika. There aren't many games set in there during WW2. Also it would be great to see if Reb can achieve such "heavy" sand effect like Naughty Dog achieved in Uncharted 3. I mean the sand will have major role in this title so they have to do it right and its using next gen engine so... yeah.
For me personally I prefer to see such game set during the Vietnam War. This would be epic, with the booby traps, the tunnels etc.
