8800 GTS with 512/1024 mb ram is a little bit faster than 8800 GT
there are also older 8800 GTS versions with 320/640 which are much slower than the 8800 GT

I guess you are on a specific budget there, but are you sure you don't want to wait a couple of weeks for the new ATI/Nvidia cards?

Im not realy on a budget if its good i'll get it, i was looking at the 9800gx2, but i read people are having problems with the 9000 series and that they are not as good as the 8800gts or gt and they are twice the price, im kinda lost, i just want a good solid card that will run whats out today at the high setting, and those new cards will cost a bomb i'll bet.

if you're not on a budget or in a desperate hurry then I'd hold off like coxy said

saw ebuyer now stock an 8800gt 512meg for 99 pounds here in the UK. That's an amazing pricepoint.

I'm in the same boat as you atm. Been holding off for ages and the 8800gt is now so cheap I think I might as well get it and not think about it. Then I'm worried that I'll wish I'd waited a few weeks, after all the current tech is a couple of years old, and I'm especially inclined to wait hearing the rumblings about an ATI comeback. Could make for an interesting time..

The price difference between them makes the GTS a no brainer. My GTS was $169 after rebate. Closest GT at the time was $139 after rebate.

Buy the GTS, its a GTX clocked lower.

OR, wait 1 more week and get a HD4850 fot $199.
