I am having serious problems in settling down here in my country (just like millions of other citizens like me). The thing is, i don't wanna reach 40 and still be a precarious worker like many others. Being an european citizen, i was thinking about emmigrating in a foreign country in Europe, since it would be easier to find a job (definitely way easier than establishing myself in USA or Canada, which would be the best solution though.). I Already know english pretty well and i don't feel like learning another language, so i thought that England and the land close to it (Scotland, Ireland) might be a good try. If you do live in the above mentioned countries, how is the situation there as fas as working is concerned, and do you think it might be hard for a foreigner to find a job there and permanently settle down?
I am a computer technician who's had many experiences in many fields and, believe it or not, i hold a degree in Movie Directing after having attended to a 3-year course in a film school.

I've been living in Scotland for a 1 year and a half and I would have a chance I would move out to Holland in a heartbeat.
Chicks are butt ugly ! If you ever gonna meet a nice looking girl she's probably polish or else. Believe me if i wouldn't be stuck here in Scotland cuz of the degree at the university I wouldn't spend it a single second. Don't get me wrong, people are nice here and stuff but this country is filled with retards and i can't stand that freaking teenagers here - that probably is the most important reason why the abortion should be legal everywhere. Did I mention the fact that the accent is fucked up as well ? And zillions more of the reasons why you don't want to settle here.
So If you still thinking about UK m8 - cross that idea out. Go to Holland !

As piemel said , pretty much everyone in belgium and holland can speak english very well, especially brussels and surroundings are very "international" so you would fit in well , also wages are good etc.

Thats a bit extreme isn't it? I didn't take his post to seriously and it sounds like you took both their posts personal. Whenever people joke on this forum about the French being cowards they don't get banned.
Here in my town there are alot of people who have gone to universities and have a high level of education but then they just come here and work in the port and make a nice living driing cars from point A to B and other easy stuff.

Uno : I Don't wan't be a rude fu... but the only reason my tuition fees are being covered by the SAAS is that vast majority of the people around here don't give a fuck about going to uni.
Believe me I talked with some people from faculty around the uni and they told me the same thing. They are just looking for some way to cover the missing places that's all.
I had a friend who was trying to get some into some postgraduate degree and it was only like 10 places and guess what ... all this places was taken by Scots so it's not like that what you thing that we're taking your places at the uni.
(Does any recall that South Park quote : "They took our JOBS !" - is the same)

Sorry Jenni, but Under is right.. he is paying the taxes, he is paying his bills, so he should be granted to get educated, as much as he deserves. You can't force him to like what you like and ban the peoples, that have a different view on this kind of things.
