More interesting than the game is the text...
The identity of the new InstantAction project was uncovered in October, along with the news that GarageGames had ramped up its employee count in advance of development.
Announced earlier this year, InstantAction is set to launch sometime in early 2008. The service aims to offer a multitude of community features along the lines of Xbox Live or Steam, while generally skewing to a more casual line of games.
Unlike Flash, the InstantAction platform allows for full 3D rendering. Games run directly inside a web browser window, with a friends list and chat window off to the side.
hadn't read that before... freakin wild.

more robot shooters....i think they suck. Shooters should atleast have some realism to them. ala cod4 or gta 4 (which I consider a shooter as well as a car game and rpg)

Got in!
Quote: | Hello everyone-
Welcome to the Legions closed beta!
Legions Beta build 6535 is now available on InstantAction.com.
We push updates out to the users every Thursday along with the InstantAction site update typically, as well as grow the beta testing group. Your feedback and help has been incredibly helpful thus far.
To play a game of Legions on InstantAction:
1. You should now see a "Play Legions Beta" window on your games collection screen when you log into the homepage of InstantAction.com
2. **You should also now have access to our closed beta forums, located at:
/* */
3. **There is a good thread about how to get started located here:
/* */
This beta is in a little bit of flux. We appreciate you using our Bug report forums to help us out as much as possible. There is a friendly IRC channel located on IRC.QUAKENET.NET, with other beta testers. Information on how to join can be found here:
/* */
Thanks again for taking the time to help us turn this game into something great, the team really appreciates everyones help and feedback.
**Important note on this build!!**
There is currently an issue with forum access for the ~1110 users who were just added. If this is your first email regarding the Private beta, you will most likely not be able to access the private beta forums (or links above) until early next week. However, access to the game will be fine and we felt it better to not restrict access over the weekend while the issue with the forum is sorted out. If you get access errors to any of the above forum links, please be patient and try again later next week.
For those with other access issues, we need the full email address that you used to create your InstantAction account to be able to add you to the beta, 90% of the non-access problems are resulted from us having the wrong email. If you have trouble access the forums, or the game, or both, please be sure to send both your account email address and your InstantAction username so we can match them up and get it sorted out. All access problem requests can be sent to exp@garagegames.com for sorting. Thank you!
Warm regards,
Tim Aste |

Anyone got a beta account and not using it anymore? In a need of a serious tribes fix, and sadly tribes 1 and 2 are pretty much dead.

Half an hour to go. They took down the servers to update them to get ready just a little bit ago. Hopefully it lives up to the legacy of tribes.

I managed to sign up with a proxy, there were a couple of full servers and a couple with 1 person in, the rest were bad ping or another game (server browser shows mixed games) Started an empty server and it does look crap, you can up the resolution and play full screen (actual full screen mode not just fill the browser) but it's still crap, looks like it would attract kids more than anything.
I think all the games on the site are free but you have to pay for maps etc.
