Yesterday my Son told me I have to activate Vista on his new rig. I was like Confused. I installed that system 17th of May, now that's OVER A MONTH AGO!...right!. He "forgot" to tell me before Razz
Now is there a way to run any of the BIOS mods outside of the desktop (I think not) but anyho, asking just in case.

I guess I have to reinstall the whole lot...in a way its partially my fault as I said I would activate it right away (17th May) but he said "its ok do it later, I want to check out Crysis" I told him "remind me", but he never did until yesterday. Well there it is Smile.

Cheers, and I can run that without entering desktop? as the activation timer/deadline has locked that.
Actually I think thats what I am running on my rig...but how to run that offline, like I said.

Run the command prompt in the limited mode (typing "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" or "file:///C:/WINDOWS/system32/cmd.exe" in the IE address bar), rearm vista (using "slmgr -rearm"), reboot then install your crack from the desktop. Smile

If you have any problem for rearming -I haven't used it for long and not since SP1- maybe check for articles like that. Smile

Just had a go at it now. I tried that last link from you $en$i, but as soon as i hit enter after typing slmgr -rearm (says that the command is not valid) or slmgr/rearm (says that i am not allowed to run that). Getting ready to reinstall VISTA here, no drama really, just takes a bit of time. Oh and I tried to run the crack in safe mode, no go.

You do tried that link? http://keznews.com/3945_Rearming_Vista_SP1_to_Live_120_Days_with_No_Product_Key

It seems that you have to enable rearm within the registry since SP1 in order to use it. If it fails I am clueless. Embarassed Wink
