Eh, I'd much rather go play with GH3 PC. The game is fine, but buggy as fuck.

I honestly can't see how people like these games... Can anyone intelligently describe why? All I ever get when I ask people that I know is "its fun".

Rock Band is fun because it has some timeless music (Boston - Foreplay/Long Time) that you get to interact with in a neat way (WITH FRIENDS) and, while drunk, you can sing along and not feel like an ass.

Why are karaoke bars successful? This is the logical next step. KTHX.

isn't frets on fire the game where you get to use an actual guitar instead of that fisher price crap?

See this I can understand then. If it actually teaches you how to play then not only would it be fun but also educational.

FoF was good before GH3 PC got released, now if you play FoF you are stupid cause GH3 is better on every points you can think of. FoF lag, it's written in python. GH3 PC can have custom songs too (see scorehero). You can play with the keyboard, a 360 guitar or a gamepad.

NuclearShadow : The game is pure fun, just try it and you'll see. It needs rhythmic, good dexterity and it's a good challenge. Music is good and you actually get to play it (not like a real guitar but at expert it's coming close).

It's requires the same timing & button pressing skills as every other game, contained in a different wrapper. There, every game ever is just timing & accurate input device control. Find the wrapper you like best. Shooting a bunch of ingame people is equally ridiculous, or lapping a bunch of tracks in an imaginary hyper car, if not more so.

Uh, yeah. It's fun. What more do you need? Isn't that the reason anyone plays games? And I'd like to say that I agree with Submiqent's point.

No. You're probably thinking of Guitar Rising. Frets on Fire is meant to replicate Guitar Hero.

Haven't got I clue. I never understood why people who own a car would bother to play driving games, and I don't understand why anyone would play this instead of actually learning to play the guitar.

Each to their own, but I'd rather have fun and do something productive.

Then playing videogames, listening to music, and watching movies aren't really for you, I'd say.
