My wife likes videogames. A shame she is the worst gamer on this planet.. but whatever.
She likes mmorpgs which she is half decent at but requires me to help her stat or decide which item to wear. I don't like getting up 30 + times a day which I find unacceptable so please no mmorpgs.
Easy games are preferred as well as calm. She easily freaks out and lets out a shrieking scream that pierces my eardrums and makes my brain feel like its bleeding. Oblivion even has made her do this... so please no games with "surprises" such as a rat busting through a wall at the start of the game. The game must also have easy controls as she really can't use advanced controls and easily becomes nervous and starts hitting the wrong keys and ends up dying.
She likes the Sims however she has grown bored of it. So any game similar may be a good idea.. Any suggestions? Just remember shes bad at games, she gets shocked easily, and if you even dare find it humorous to recommend a survival horror I will slap you.

Many ladyfolk seem to enjoy Portal. And when Spore arrives, that sounds like the perfect choice. It's like The Sims times a million.

My wife loves games, big gamer like me, but she does have her own selection. Things like Viva Pinata and SIMS for PC, and a ton of Wii games.

Have your significant other try a turn based strategy game like Heroes of might and magic, disciples, etc.. .
Since it's turn based she'll have to use her head but there'll be zero time pressure, so she'll be able to think about the next move to make all day long, which should give ya some rest.
They also autosave before the end of each turn so if she makes a boo boo it's easy to revert back to before that.
Or you could suggest one of those tycoon games, like restaurant tycoon, ski resort tycoon, skatepark tycoon, gay pornstar tycoon, etc...
There's a few billion of those at least.
Edit: Also, many girls/women love those jrpgs like Grandia, Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Chrono cross, and many others.
