Hi
i hate ea, first my saitek p3000 doesnt work properly in nhl2005 (problem not yet fixed). and now i can't change the button configuration in fifa2005 (althoug the readme says its supported by the game)
any solutions?

this was exactly the same problem with Fifa 2004.
EA released a patch the day after releasing 2004, and it still didn't sort the problem out.
Maybe the retards at EA will release a patch for this one tomorrow.

Yeah i'm having a similar problem.
I've got my Xbox pads hooked up to my PC, and they work fine, but when I go to the controls option, I can click across to choose my control to edit the buttons. It's as if it doesn't see my controller, even though it works in the game.
Has anyone been successful in fixing this, or is having the same problem?

i found a solution several days ago. search for your device in the config.dat (FIFA2k5\data\system). look at the second name of your device. open regedit and search for it. then you simply need to rename the "oemname" using the description u got from the config.dat of fifa2k5. works fine here

Problem was, my device wasn't in that list.
I just downloaded a proggie which let me change what buttons were assigned where, and worked from that.

You're kidding, right?
Sure the keyboard and mouse combo is perfect for FPS and RTS games... but when you're talking arcadey games like this, there's no other way to play it than with a game pad.
I'd like to see you get the precision movement you get from an analogue stick, using the arrow keys.

yeah tried all that shit with the last fifa. didn't work at all.
the only way i could get it working was to change the device name for my controller in windows. but then it wouldn't work in any other games.
best skip this pile of shit altogether.
