Anybody here has experience with those external cooling which you can buy to "improve" performance.
do they help, specially against the RROD ?
and which one is the better one, because i have so far seen 3 different types.

i've tried a nyko intercooler and a talismoon fan

my experience with the intercooler was that it was crap. after a few months the fans began to raise hell, but only when you would first turn it on. oddly enough, while it was making that noise i would usually get an E68 error. so i learned that i could let it sit there and run with that error on the screen until the fans hushed, then i could power off and on and it would work fine.

thought it was just an odd coincidence until 2 of my friends began to tell me about random E68 errors they were getting and after a little talking guess what they had plugged into the back of their 360's?

i can't say that it cooled the xbox any better than the factory fans. the talismoon fans are a waste of money also unless you are just after having fans with leds in them.

if you aren't scared to try, wire your factory fans into a 12v lead and you will have no more cooling problems. that's what i've done and i let mine run for hours at a time sitting on the carpet and it barely gets warm.

You could always try duct taping your vacuum cleaner to the back of your console =)

Your better off just haveing a house fan blowing at it, and raise it up a bit so air can go al round it.

The problem is because the gpu heat sink has the dvd drive sittting right above it with only a mm or 2 clearance.... dumb arse design.

if you get one make sure it has its own power supply, apparently it causes more problems than it fixes if it runs off power supply from 360.

I agree just make sure the area around it is well ventilated, make sure it is on a hard surface (not carpet) and don't leave it on for days on end Smile

I've got a Konig XBOX 360 cooler with AV.
The cooling is really crappy.

I know why, All the coolingstuff is on the backside of the XBOX360. If you buy new external cooling, It will be the same, You click it on the back of you're XBOX360. It will just extend a little air.. Not good..

But I'm happy with my Konig because the VGA and stuff Smile
But the coolingsystem's of external cooling for XBOX360 are all crappy.
The best method for cooling your XBOX360, Is to put on a watercooling system OR build a whole new case with a better airflow and more space to build fans in it, Because the case is just SHIT, You can't put anything in it anymore.. Maybe 1 more little fan.. Nah that helps Laughing
