I'm toying with the idea of hooking my wii up to my laptop. I'm wondering if there is any kind of usb peripheral I can use to take composite or component input live in to the laptop and display it full screen? I know there are lots of video capture devices but do those allow you to "watch" live? Like for example if I hooked a DVD player up to it could I watch it live?

I have not used a video capture device for well over 5 years, but the last one I had (ATI's All-In-One) did let you plug in whatever you needed, live, via composite or S-Video. I did a quick search, and found 2 products which get good reviews. Both are USB, affordable, and should let you do what you want. No HD though. Make sure to read the specs, some of them have NTSC/PAL only tuners.

Thanks. at least it appears there is some high end and low end solutions.
That low-end one doesn't look bad except for the fact that it mentions that there is some blur with fast motion..not exactly ideal for some Wii games.
