I have a telescope man, it extends whenever I see some hot slut walking across the street, only downfall is that it gets dirty so quickly, have to wipe this whitish shit off with a clean cloth or hanky, other than that it can spot hot pussy miles away:) I would say, come check it out but I ain't selling it mate.

Serious note, I did own a telescope once, but I sold it after 7 months or so, firstly cuz our nightskies were complete and utter shit(too much light pollution), and to be able to find stuff you need good knowledge of everything, and alot of patience.
If you don't have a good tracking computer(and this shit costs alot of money), then you can forget about tracking nebula's. I had read several books about the subject, what opticals to use, what magnification for what, etc, so if you haven't read atleast 10 books on the subject then I would not invest money in it.
Best is to join an astronomy club first and learn from the people there, it will save you atleast 3000$, if this keeps your intrest then go ahead and buy. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

There are three types of telescopes: Reflector, refractor and cardioptric. The last one is kinda pro so you should forget about them. Refractors are good for Earth observations, lunar and planetary observations, while reflectors are good for observing deep sky objects. Refractors uses lens, and reflector uses mirrors for enhancing image. They both have pros and cons. Try googling it out a little bit...

I think I might screw buying the telescope.
Mostly because I don't have a backyard since I live in a apartment so i cant tilt the telescope up fully but only watch out from a terrace.
As well as there are no astronomy clubs around here so yeah.

Why should you buy a telescope when you can watch every distant galaxy from the comfort of your own desktop?
