|
 |
I was heatgunning a different xbox 360 console tonight and I accidentally got too close to the wifi button (blue) apparently. And it freakin melted!! And then I could not push it at all. It was completely unpushable. I even tried pushing it with a precision screw driver with full force but this is what it looked like:
And I really needed to push it because my wireless controller wasn't synced with this new console. The button was completely solid and just would not move or push in AT ALL. So I wrapped the entire motherboard in foil again except for the wifi button part and melted it again with my heatgun and then it started to look like weird a bubble. I chopped it off immediately because the plastic gets very hard within 3 or 4 seconds.
So now my wifi button looks like this:
And I have to push it with a screw driver but at least it pushes in now! So yea I just thought would share that
Watchout for that wifi button. It could happen to YOU!

Yea I purchased another xbox 360 console (for about $60) because theres something wrong with my old one. The one I purchased had a simple 0102 error code which I took care of tonight (melting the wifi button lol). But it all worked out alright, the console runs perfectly fine now and the wifi button works. And everything inside is like completely brand new. It was never flashed or opened. I could tell as I was taking it apart lol. Even the outside cover is in mint condition. It has a Samsung MS25 (same as my old one) which Im going flash in the morning.
Something on that old xbox's motherboard kept triggering a GPU overheat error code for the past few months. Ive been constantly doing trial and error and running tests with that console trying to figure out the problem. I even started to keep a log for my results but it just kept giving constant problems. This summer so far Ive opened that console over at least 100 times.
Ive had so many problems with that console that it feels like Im fixing it more often than I actually get to play. And right now at this moment, the console is on error code 0022 which is a CPU solder joint problem which means I need to reflow that crap AGAIN lol. Ive had it with that old crap console so Im sending it back to MS (with warranty sticker and xclamps intact). After it comes back Im just going to sell it.

Yeah... probably works out at around £30 for a 360.
... damn, that's just awesome.

Yea I thought it was a pretty good deal when I saw it. I bought it online for $34.99 + $20 shipping. Since I chopped off my wifi button I don't think I can ever return this one back to Microsoft for repairs lol. But its a good thing it was the wifi button that melted and not the eject button.
