Ubisoft just released an official no cd fix for rainbow 6 vegas 2. Except its not their fix. They stole the crack from a piracy group called Reloaded, which violates their own rules on piracy.

nah don't think so but they tried to analyze the techniques reloaded was using to make this executable run stable (what wasn't at least the case with the original pe).

The "instability" was obviously in the securom code, some of which rld/battery got rid of. I'm sure they didn't actively do anything to make it more stable, lolz wtf ...

We’re looking into this further as this was not the UK Support team that posted this, however if it is an executable that does not need the disc I doubt it has come from an external source. There’d be very little point doing so when we already own the original unprotected executable.

As soon as we find out more about this we’ll let you know.

but i bet the "guy" who uploaded it took the rld one
but mabe someone hacked their site and put it up by his own:0 conspiracy theories ftw

Wait. Did they lose the original, unprotected exe or something? You know, the one that comes post-development and pre-copyprotection.

OK, I meant the instability was probably in the protection, not the game code. I doubt the cracker patched the game. Geee, replace the word securom with safedisc !

@ Leftos :
Maybe there was miscommunication between the development team and the publisher or their "game support" section

well, that's arguable, but that's not the point, and you're stupid if you can't see that
they so vehemently enforce the copy protection and ban anyone even discussing it on the boards, denying the protection's involvement in any trouble a user might have, and then release this cracked file as a 'fix', clearly catching them with their hypocritical pants down on all that
it's just a fortunate bonus that they did this by 'stealing' it from the very enemies they oppose, thus validating the entire crack movement

then again, this could also be said for all the rereleased abandonware games that carry a cracked .exe, but not with equal irony

You mean UBI is nothing compared to EA !? EA is for sure the shittiest Developer and Publisher in the whole wide world, they bring buggy Games and patches after months where nobody is playin anymore. You wanna a list ? Here: NfS series, C&C3 TW/KW, Battlefield, LotR, and, and ....

About the File from Ubisoft, its a weak move and funny to look but as some allready said, its there piece of shit so they can do what they want Smile

In my Eyes the grps are not so hated as suspected Very Happy
