Yes, unfortunately it's beta with many bugs, but some games do work. Seems for the moment Wanikoko has stopped work on it as he's annoyed by the release, so it might be some time now before the project is picked up again and the bugs ironed out.

I was able to boot a back up of Mario Galaxy..... Load times are long , I do realize this is a un finished copy of the loader. My respects to Wanikoko this app is great , too bad he stopped working on it.......But to answer the question...Yes It Works.

Its not unbearable for what it is....maybe 10-20 seconds longer than playing off the orig disc.....Im making some more back ups from other titles to test...I'll post my findings here if people are interested.... Mario Galaxy freezes just after I run down the path a bit...might be a bad image...Im gonna re-test in a bit...Ill keep the thread posted.

You need a save file for mario galaxy, to get past the intro section where it locks.

Now that this is out, whats the chances of someone else making a better one now that they know it can be done??? or can they decompile his and improve it I wonder. makes no sense to me the dvd is locked at 3x that doesnt even sound like something that had to be done..... but again im not a programmer.

He may still be working on it, but regardless if he is or isn't, the source code will be released.

Very cool to hear. This project is going to make some waves. I've been playin around with it and its cool , it loaded just about everything Ive thrown at it.... It just needs someone to finish it , work out the bugs and its there. Waninkoko is the man. Bravo Sir. Bravo.

Waninkoko released the source to the dip module, which has caused a few other loaders to crop up. The newest, and best seems to be this one.

I wonder if they will ever unlock the dvd speed to go past 3x? thats why most of the games skip.

He has confirmed the final version of his loader is way ahead of the two currently available which probably means more compatibility and DVD speed over 3x

The other dood hasn't made a different loader, it's just waninkokos merged into Gecko-region free.
