topic..? And also, do you think it will result in people getting banned?
The thing is my 360 just died so I'll need to buy a new one (it was modded so I cant send it to repair). But I guess the smart move would be to wait buying it and having it modded until AFTER the new update, right?
Also, if it does ban everyone people will need to find a new way to mod, wouldn't they? If so, is that a process that would take many months or do you think people will be relatively quick to work around it?
edit: sorry, didn't see the "Fall update" topic as I was looking for the words "new xbox experience"... I would still like an answer to my questions though

2. useless thread since there is one regarding the Dash update.
3. No one knows what will happen after the update banning wise. What people think will happen is also, useless.

you wont get banned for installing this early. if someone was on the trial, and shared their HDD with another user, that user will get upgraded... MS knows about this... they wont be able to tell this isn't what happened with you...

Ok, since everyone ask about the same things here is what gets you banned:
1. playing games on live
2. installing NXE
3.Buying a game from gamestop
4.Pissing while sitting
5.Listening to bon jovi
6. Being fucking dumb.
Yes, MS bans their customers for everything....
NO they dont, if they detect modded Firmware they will. NOTHING ELSE GETS YOU BANNED NOW STOP ASKING.

oh, it has a chip in it though, so should I have someone take out the chip before sending it in? it aint just a firmware mod
edit: well they want money for taking out the chip. I'm so close to just send to microsoft with the chip in it.. you think thats a bad idea?

Well to be honest I have no idea how it all works out with a chip or if you can send it in at all if you have a console from a different region. That's problematic for sure. All I can say is I heard a lot of stories where they didn't care at all how the console looked. Someone even forgot a burned DVD in his (flashed) drive and he got it back in a CD case together with his repaired console. I guess it all depends on the technician you get. I bet it's a lot easier if you only have a firmware flash, though. That usually works fine.
