I made a thread about this in the VIP section but I decided it would be good to open it up to everyone and hear their points of view
Please, no flaming, no disrespect,...nothing of that ok? Me and I believe many others are sick of each thread turning into flamefests. Mature arguements are welcome, as also. Debating is fine. Lets not flame each other in the process ok?
Anyway, I have a question for all of you.
what constitutes being "Emo"?
Personally, I dont like stereotypes of any types. Why define someone based on what they wear or how they act. Its not fair to that person. Everyone has their own personality.
Why cant we all accept that we are different and learn from each others differences in stead of throwing ppl into groups. There's no sense it in and many times, its offensive.
Anyway, please discuss

I don't mind emo's however when they are like Waldoj, constantly making shitty threads that consist of nothing but emotes and whines for attention, it gets pretty annoying. I really wish somebody would put him out of his fake misery already.
He was actually better when he posted on his Inj account.
Also I know you want to keep it flame free but this is nforce, that's not going to happen i'm afraid.
PS I do agree stereotypes are shit but even so Waldoj is a prime example of EMO. The type of person that constantly whines for attention, it has little to do with his musical choice or clothes, just that really.

Haha. Ouch. Just ouch. Hahahaha.
It's nice to see that I'm the attention whore. Looks like I've been doing a good job recently, throwing random threads about just to whine and insult a singular member. I may be making a lot of whiny, pussy threads and cry a lot in my bedroom while I listen to Eliot Smith, but seriously and for true... fuck off.
You beg for attention with your corny attempts at flame wars.
Still that was nice. It was ouch. It'd be nicer however if you actually knew what emo was. Still I do admire the low blow. I knew it would happen. Whenever you do get the chance, eh dazz?

I dont see waldo as an emo. He may be a different sort of cat, but he's not 'emo'. What exactly is emo is anyway.
He posts stuff where he bitches, has fun etc that doesnt mean he's emo.
If you guys took the time to know waldo you'd know he's a really good guy with a good heart. He'd give you the shirt of his back if you needed it.
Be compassionate isnt a flaw, its a good quality
Anyway, please let us have an intelligent discussion. Most of us here are adults. We should be able to have a mature discussion
PLEASE DO NOT FLAME ANYONE

EMOtional
Stereotypes come about for a reason, most will be based on truth (important point most, and based.)
When I think or see emo, I see kids or young adults (never seen a 30's something emo) They
usually look like they are not hardcore enough to go goth.
Read not to contradict and confute, nor to believe and take for granted, but to weigh and consider.
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
In all your remembering, remember that you have choices

That last one is kinda cute

I know your joking but Im sure he's one of the few Nazi's that didnt get away. He would have been arrested by now. Even tho he was dead, there was a world wide manhunt for him you know? So he would have been arrested and rounded up with other Nazi war criminals

here's what I personnaly think , no offense to anyone
emos are kids with depression
goths put that shit on their faces to feel powerful than others , pretending to be vampires or some kinda super-human creature , but they change attitude when you hit them hard enough

I have had a few goth friends and they all seemed rebeling against Catholicism. I think some of the emo stuff comes from that. (their families preached alot but never held the real values)
One of my goth friends dad died driving to his mistress house, he had a heart attact. He died down the street from my house, by the skytrain.
He was a minister who used to hit (not beat) his wife when she did something wrong. He used to whap her on the butt like a kid when he thought she stepped outta line. Very self rightous dude. I think growing up in that was why my friend looked to something else. How does one get over some self rightous overbearing father who is wrong?

You're right mark, at least, "real" emo's don't dress in skinny pants and they don't have the scene hair, most bands that are labeled emo now are just pop songs with a little screaming/whiny voice.

^^This is the wrong "way"
Also, some clips of real emo bands:

Eh, it's such a bullshit phrase and a weak excuse for pretending to understand people. I can only think of it as an attention thing, properly depressed people & people with personality disorders usually have a more serious bend to things.
Though I tend to hate any label at all, it's just such a waste of time.
