my pc is really weird lol. For some weeks now, it had a problem booting, because of "hal.dll missing or corrupted". THe fun and weird thing is, it wont boot at all (neither normal or safemode) UNLESS i have the windows cd in the drive. Without booting from the cd tho (it just shows the "to boot from cd press any key .....) and then boots into windows normally.
thought was kinda funny.
(btw obviously i tried to fix it, but with no success. Tried like 5 different versions of the dll. And can't be bothered to make a reinstall atm).
This is somewhat a frequent error under XP, usually launching a repair while booting from the CD will fix it. You can also run the command "sfc /scannow" while in XP.
