How do you convert xvid or divx files into ipod format?

I tried both Super and Videora ipod converter but the both won't work...

Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate is the easiest one. You select the iPod profile and drag-drop the file and hit convert.

looks good but you have to pay for it. I was looking for a freeware application...

I use WinAVI MP4 .. thats done me alright for my Nokia N95 ( same format )

I use ultra mobile 3GP video converter for my psp, iphone, couple of LG phones, Zen vision:M; fantastic little program. You just need to google the recommended video settings for your player, then apply em before converting videos.. ect.
