Maybe this question will sound dumb but i'm new with the xbox 360 (i was playing only on PC but since more and more games are first developed for 360/PS3 then ported to PC i decided to change my mind
My question : once i've flashed my DVD drive , is it safe to update the dashboard (in other words, does the software update of the 360 check some parameters of the DVD drive ?) and since i don't want to go on Live, on which site can i download the latest 360 dashboard (and what is the install procedure ? burn the dashboard soft on DVD 4.7Go or can i use a usb key ?)
To your questions: yes, but you don't have to download it from any site. If you don't get banned it will automaticly ask if you want to update your dashboard.
And if you do get banned you will be able to install the new Dashboards from any new game that requires the Dashboard. Think of it like new Direct X versions on the DVD's of PC games.
