His message is loud and clear, in an opinion he states the MPAA should “promoting the fun of going to the movies” instead of spending money fighting digital piracy.

this is a great article

I have more than 1 billion dollars invested in the entertainment industry. I get to see our content distributed illegally online. I get a daily report of all the torrents and other files available online. You know what I think about that ? So what. Thats what i think. Its collateral damage. Unlike music, it takes time to upload and download movies. People with more time than money will steal content. THey werent going to pay for it otherwise. People with a conscious will pay for the content. Fortunately that is most people.

wow....so much...common sense....not human

Hurray someone in authority of the subject realizes that we really are the grain of sand on a gigantic beach.

We do not effect sales anywhere close to what they make out.

Eeeerm, I download DVD's in less than 4 minutes, don't know in what backward country you live:) All it takes is 2 usenet servers, 16 threads and 12mb/s.

they dont care about us more 'elite' or 'professional' pirates. They are just torn on making show ups of kids who use public torrents and p2p shit.

Problem is they can never really go after usenet... or usenet users, so they don't bother - its entirely about the torrents

good movies will always be bought on DVD & bluray imo anyway.
bad ones get pirated and never bought.

my wife has a rather large collection of horror dvds and i know for a fact i downloaded nearly all of them before she actually bought them. if she likes a film enough that she will watch it again at some point in the future she will always buy it on dvd.

infact she has loads of horror movies on dvd she would never have heard of if i didnt download them for her first.

I learned to never purchase movies. I will go to the theaters and once in a while rent a movie but I tend to never watch a movie more than once. Very few get watched twice and way less are the ones watched even more. To me its not worth the expensive for how little entertainment I get from them.

I will only buy a movie if it is one I really really loved, for example I have the Matrix trilogy. I wont buy a crap film, what's the point?
