and it fucking SUCKS. I want my 5 minutes back !
Watched till that scene where a drone is chasing the helicopter. Utter shit. The acting is terrible, the dialogue naive and childish, like it's some 80s scifi show. Crap !
Did I mention the acting is terrible and the actors are terrible ?

it is pretty lame. The guy with the golden crustations on his face is the most annoying actor/person/character ive ever seen in a series. Tiok or something his name is I think. What a dipshit. He has the charisma of a soggy teabag.

I like his character the best. I like all the characters actually. I think it is a show that you are either into or not. I love the sci-fi stuff.

How lameass ! Even Richard Dean Anderson (who is on that first episode) looks lame and oooold. Screw that, how did it reach season 5 ?!?
Also, the fucking actors had terrible accent, canadian I think, since the series is canadian. Well, it's too ... much for me (I'm european)
I'm watching Jericho now. Kinda cheesy at times, but I'll take anything over Stargate Atlantis.

I'll say SG-1 is better but Stargate Atlantis isnt that bad. And it was voted best Sci Fi series of either 2007 or 2008.
I never was into much until I had watched every SG1 episode 5 times and wanted more new stargate. So I made myself sit through like 5 episodes and it grew on me.
Season 1 is horrible. Season 2 isnt bad. Season 3 is ok and Season 4 is really good. And so far Season 5 looks like its going to be stellar
The only thing that bothers me about SGA is the character Telya. I wish they would kill her off. She is so fuckin annoying...they way she looks, her acting skills, the way she speaks, everything about her I hate. I really wish they would kill her. They killed Weir off (kinda) which was a very good move cause she was horrible and to make the series better i think they should kill off Teyla

Naw man, its not a Canadian accent 
Its filmed in Vancouver I think but aside from that its an American show. And thats how all southern canadians/northern americans talk...normally. |

If you accept that Atlantis is a children's show and accept it for it's naïvety - think of it as Xena or Hercules, hold it to that standard. If you can appreciate it for what it really is, a very popular show with horrible actors (Like Star Trek TOS), see it with a sense of humour, then it can be quite entertaining.
The fact that those responsible for the story are likely Marvel-nerds with the same creativity as a 5-year old with a He-Man-fetisch(not that 5-year olds aren't uncreative, they just lack the ability to make good stuff).
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

True, Sorbo is one of a kind - he tries to do the Arnold-thing but fails. Both have zero acting abilities, but Arnold knows how to do it with a wink. But the main cast in Atlantis are horrible actors, like that Enterprise-reject who plays the Wraith called Michael...
Amanda Tapping is probably one of the better in the cast (and her predecessor), and that annoying engineer from canada that I always keep forgetting the name of. Some of it is of course due to the fact that the characters lack a lot of depth and don't really evolve throughout the story - but then on the other hand, a good actor can at least go above that (like what I think Amanda has done with Carter, who used to be equally as one-sided as the rest of the SG-1-cast [not including the Farscape-addition] (minus perhaps Daniel Jackson).

I hear you though, as a fan of the original (I'm only 21, but a huge sci fi nerd) I was sort of frustrated at first. Except now, the show is basically the best thing on TV, Drama and Sci Fi.
As for atlantis, I liked the first season because I got baked and laughed. Seems somewhat drawn out to me... Not a huge fan. |

I use to watch SG 1 once in a blue moon and it was okay (I loved the episode where they got stuck in a time warp and only 2 of them knew it was happening) I gave Atlantis a try and I must say it is horrible complete trash and I have no desire to watch it ever again.

Yeah, the actors arent as good as the ones on Sg-1. I will say that. Im not a fan of Sheppard. He's like a Jack O'Neill rip off.
Dr.McKay is ok because he's funny sometimes. But I'd say my favourite character is Ronin.
And yeah, Amanda Tapping did bring alot to the show in its 4th season but you know she's out now right? The new leader is Robert Picardo (Mr. Woosley)...the hologram doctor from Star Trek Voyager.
And as for Connor Trinner (Michael) I think he does an ok job if you compare him on SGA to him on Star Trek Enterprise. He does play a good villian.
But you know who the next villain is going to be right? The replicated Dr. Weir. In season 4 when the atlantians join up with the wraith and those other humans (that chick is their leader) and kill all the replicators, after everyone leaves thinking they've destroyed the replicators, she's shown in commanding a ship and says "Now its time to begin our work".
And if you watch the first ep of Season 5 that came out last friday in the US and Monday in Canada, Michael wont be around for much longer.
But by far, the worst actor on any of the stargate series has to be Ben Browder. The Farscape guy. His acting skill is almost (not quite but almost) as bad as Sorbo. If it wasnt for the rest of the cast (excluding Vala), season 9 and 10 would have sucked.

You liked Xena and Hercules? I agree the shows werent to be taken seriously either, but the acting was just super super bad imo. Id rather watch a Segal movie than those shows you know?
And Kevin Sorbo, naw, he cant act at all. Whether its in hercules or andromeda (seen it on showcase a few times, plays in the mornings at 6am), his acting is seriously bad. Im gunna have to go with fisk on this one and say he tries to do the whole arnie thing, but it just doesnt work because a) he doesnt look tough b) he has even worse acting skills than arnie.

And considering my all my friends are over 6'0, I notice it more. Im always looking up at people. Pisses me off. Its good for fighting tho, because ppl underestimate based on my size you know?
I think he wears a necklace, not a collar. But now that you mention it, I cant really remember. lol
Im trying to get like spikes that are 6inches or bigger. Mine are only 3 1/2 - 4 inches. I bought a buncha braclets that had bigger than norm spikes and put them on my secklace. Its great because when I fight, no one can grab my throat

I wasnt talking competition fighting. I donnt do that anymore. To much travelling and politics and shit involved with competition fighting. Its more about who you know than your actual skill (even in leagues like the UFC) most times.
I was talking about street fighting. And there are no rules when you throw down with someone on the street. And as long as the spikes arent concealed, they are considered decoration.
