Been trying to find this movie for ages, it was a sci-fi'ish movie where this scientist(?) guy ended up in alternate reality where the nazis had won World War II. It still happened in modern times (80s or 90s, no idea when the movie was released). Any ideas?

How old did the movie seem? At least give us an estimate.

Did it star Rutger Hauer?

I'd say it was somewhere between '88-'92, hard to say for sure of course..

Hmm might've been Fatherland with Rutger Hauer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109779/, going to check it out.

the book is way better than the movie, so give it a read, if you can get hold of a copy.

is it based on the book... cause i remember reading bits of it and thought it'd make a great movie ... it'd be sick too.

yeah, its basically a shorter version of the book with a slightly different ending (the one in hte book is better). Its a good movie and a great book, so if you want to make the most of it, watch the movie first and read the book later =)

oh well, misunderstandings galore. NO, it isnt based on the Phillip K. Dick book (i stated that above already). It is based on a book by Robert Harris, also called Fatherland.

The man in the high castle is also a great read though, so no harm done if you read that instead Very Happy

Watched Fatherland, decent movie but wasn't the same... It's probably Philadelphia Experiment II judging from the plot description - shame it seems to be a completely crap movie. Very Happy
