Yeah.. the title says it all... I booted my pc this morning... I had accidently left my Amiga Forever 2008 in there.. and it booted into AmigaOS.... so I shut that down.. ejected the disk and rebooted...
Windows comes up fine and dandy... no internet.. I check my router... fine... I try to connect to the router ( I`m hardwired to it ) nothing... device manager doesn`t list any LAN business...
I reboot, go into the bios.. no LAN...because it`s onboard I would assume that it`s there as `ENABLED` but no...
I get into work and download the manual for the mobo.. and sure enough .. it`s listed in the manual as being in the BIOS ( under FEATURES SETUP )
Now... wtf has happened !!
I have an ECS P4M800PRO-M2 mobo... I know that booting into AmigaOS ( off the CD ) won`t have killed my LAN ) I have lights on at the back...
I did have some nasty malware a while back which is still lingering ( no British pound sign ( and no it`s not the keyboard layout ))
Balls!!!!!
Long shot.. but anyone have any ideas?

Tried resetting your bios to default settings?
And if that doesnt bring back the option for your onboard lan maybe download new bios from some other computer and install the new one on the computer you have problems with, that for sure should add the option back.
Edit: and no clue as to HOW this happened, but it should be easy enough to fix imo.

Well, try Wiz's solution first.
But something like this happened to me a few months back. In the end, I had to format and reinstall windows. then everything worked fine. hopefully you back up your stuff on the reg. I do now. Every month i back up the stuff I for sure dont want to lose
