I listed an item specifically UK bidders only as I would not post overseas.

The gormless illiterate twat who won was bidding from Malta, then proceeds to message me asking for the total price needed.

Son of a fucking bitch Twisted Evil messaged him i was re listing the item and have now re listed it for 24 hours..

Got a question.

So when you list an item you can choose to list it on UK site, or the international site? I am guessing you listed it on the UK site and the Malta guy decided to buy it anyway. I am guessing you you said UK buyers only in the title.

I would assume someone who was familliar with ebay would double check to see if the shipping included outside countries so the guy sounds like a noob. I find the ebay stuff kinda interesting.

What was the item?

yeah uk site and I put "UK BIDDERS AND SHIPPING ONLY".

It baffles me how people can just hit the bid button for an item that is already over £200 and not even read the auction details properly.

He didnt even have low feedback.. something like 24 positive's. He wasnt a noob as they where dated from right back in 2006.

It was a Photography camera.

I had this problem last week. Some fucker won a UK only item. Said he was in Germany (after the bidding ended) and then asked for it to be sent to Nigeria. Point blank "NO" from me so he progressed to attemtping to hack my account. Proper Cunt. Luckily for me, he was very obvious about his attempts (i.e. spoof emails, etc). and go no where.

Because it is the most blatent scam going. Im not going to ship an item worth well over £200 / $400 to someone not even living in my country, they just make a paypal claim and pull their money and you have no idea where they really are cos they live in bumfuck no where with a POBOX address.

The scam is simple.. they get you to ship it to a 'friend in the UK' which is really a POBOX they have access too which then ships to their real address and you have no way of tracing where your item has gone. Then they make a claim at paypal for an unrecieved item and 99.9% of the time the bidder wins their money back and the seller is made to pay back the £200 and has now lost their item.

They always try to say they want it shippedi nside the UK to a POBOX etc. I told him straight up to fuck off (obv not in those words) and blocked him from bidding further. Nigeria is the foremost scammer holdout country but Malta and others are becoming more and more popular.

There are other problems with shipping items internationally as well. Maybe not in the case of the camera but there are trade embargo's and prohibited country crap. The item prob gets bashed around more, I would think there is a good chance customs might want to open the packaging up. I have even hear of customs staff taking the item for themselves. A friend bought diamonds for 8 of his family members. Only 4 made it back. So easy to say it got lost in the mail. I am thinking of Canada post not ups or the like. I guess ups is a lot better. Seems like more of a headache.

Hmm well seems this did some good. The item sold for £232 instead of yesterdays £205 end.

SO I made £30 extra Smile

Still awaiting payment but the guy has 150+ positive feedback transactions so I think hes legit + he is from the UK.
