|
 |
I'm surprised I can sleep at night.
- I'm $7000 in debt
- I don't make enough money at my job
- My license may be suspended because I missed a court date for no front plates
- I can't afford the fines ($2000)
- I can't sell my car (paid $23,000 and they say the loan payoff is $22,000) after almost 2 years of payments!!!
- My girlfriend, whom I love dearly, was fired from her job and is moving to Seattle next month.
- I can't go with her now, because I don't have enough money.
- My stomach hurts lately. I've stopped smoking, but I'm worried. Could be because I haven't been eating right and drinking alcohol too much.
- I can't afford to move into my own place (had to move back home).
- My credit is shot to hell, because of late payments.
- I can't pay my student loans anymore.
- I'm so behind on my bills.
Yeah, so my life is pretty fucked up financially right now. Yeah, I pretty much did it to myself. I didn't think ahead in the long term, bought a car that I used to be able to afford. Went out drinking too much, bought clothes when I should have paid bills. Smoked cigarettes when I knew I should stop. And so therefore I couldn't pay bills on time. I blew $400 dollars last week on going out.
Now I can't leave with my girl, at least until I can straighten out my financial situation. I'll need to pick up a second job for a few months until I can get back on my feet.
What do you think everyone? Am I salvagable?

shit man , like i'm so afraid this shit's gonna happen to me 2
dunno why actually , but i'm afraid i'm gonna fuck it up for the people i care about and if i do , i'm never gonna get better and i'll always be dissapointed
but fuck it , take it like a fucking man and to something at least try , adulthood is not simple , it isnt supposed to be , and jesus man 400 ? fuck , be more fucking responsable. i know a fella like you who blew most of his money by going out and then be started borrowing money from where he could every fucking weekend more and more , that's really fucking low , try to make it on your own .
but any more than that i can't give you , you know the whole extent of the mess and how you could handle it . bitching about it on the internet won't help , so ACT THE FUCK UP .
and on a sarchastic note
END IT NOW! take the RED PILL!

MAN! I sooo feel for ya, But (and this is my experience) things will ALWAYS WORK OUT!. They have for me anyway, many o times I thought "this is it, can't get any worse then this"...but believe me it can, and believe me IT WILL GET BETTER!, always does, that's just they way of things!. It might look like a freak accident or simple "fate" but it will get better!...always!.
I don't believe in any higher powers and stuff (You might) but I DON'T: It's all in you and YOU WILL DO IT!, that's just how it is...don't ask me how, but YOU WILL!. FOCUS! and do IT!...post back when things are looking a tad better, and believe me THEY WILL!. That's all I have to say .

Yes, if there's one thing I learned in all of this is to BE MORE FUCKING RESPONSIBLE! Yes, $400 in a week on my girl was bullshit. I don't know what I've been thinking the past few months. It took me 5 months to fuck myself and it will probably take a year to fix it. No more spending!
To think last year I was ok. I need to grow up.

I actually wasn't even including rent: between gas, smokes, beer, food, motocross, and raves. It's hard for me to get by. I suppose i could be a homebody but then i would just spend the money somewhere else (Computers, Cameras, ETC) I would rather be out meeting people then be a hermit.

Solve it by addressing one problem at the time. Focus on one at the time.
Usually shit like this happen when you let too many things slide and don't take care of them as they happen.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Don't get how people manage to spend such insane amount of money.
Im not that cheap, but I don't find it hard to save money.
I never pay for games, music or video. Got a pretty reliable car, so only gas money.
Very good deal on the phone subscription. 6 months = less than 10 USD (50 NOK)
I never pay to much for stuff, so guess im kinda cheap on some areas. Expensive as hell just to own a car here. But I live rent free tho ^^

I've been in the hole like that and it caused me to lose my fiance. Went 3k in debt in a month, then 6k the next, then 9 the following... and I just couldn't keep up. I JUST paid it all back after a year of working hard and not buying much and selling a bunch of shit I didn't need to friends, family, garage sales, ebay, craigslist. Debt was quickly erased.
Of course, my car still needs like 7k to be paid on it over the next 3 years but that's nothing. As coxy said, EVERYTHING WORKS OUT!
And dominae is quite right too. Focus on one issue. Pick up the second job and just GRIND IT OUT. Quit smoking cold turkey and work a lot (if you have the willpower). Anything is conquerable and to answer your question - YES, you are salvageable!

Too many problems for me to go into on this thread. I really like what ChinUp said to z00mer.
@zOOmer
Sometimes you have to relax a bit and do the long haul thing which is the hardest thing to do ever because by this time you are spoiled by bad decisions. You have to re-invent yourself, a bit. Dept makes me sick to my stomach as well. I would rather not eat or go out to avoid it.
Best of luck tho.

but once you're out in some fancy place a fucking glass of coke can cost twice as much as a bottle
a dumbass coleague of mine spent like 500 or more euros in one fucking weekend or was in in one night ?
cheap ? me and a couple of mates bought 1 2litre bottle of coke and 1 litre of fanta from outside some club we were in and brought it back inside not to spend too much money
hmm , right now with college i spend about 200 usd per month , but i don't pay for college (state) and most of the food i buy in weekends when i'm home and like 10 l of gas per week

LOL your situation sounds good compared to me... but then again i make enough money to comfortablypay off my ever growing bills...
i think credits cards and loans fucked up my life... as a young person i never understood the concept and thought of it as free money... wasn't smart... fucked up my credit and just now after 6 years i am slowly getting out of the problems...
the issues you discribed are so common in north america that it is laughable... almost.

well , i do ..
what the fuck am i supposed to drink ?
beer and vodka ? neah , i don't drink , congniac or vine once a couple of months or more , but nothing more
sadly , it really doesnt good for my health , i devour that shit , i can drink like 2-3 2l or 2.5l bottles of Diet Coke a day and not have any problem sleeping
Oh , i hate credit cards , i find it better to have cash (back luck if you loose your wallet or get mugged or some shit) than carry plastic . i was amazed that some people were like "Wtf? cash?" when i bought some shit from WallMart a few years back
PS
and with the soda thing , i was 15 or younger back then , now i'm 20

Ya but... I dunno, having a rum and coke or something like that out at a club is kind of the point. We drink casually to take the edge off and let loose a little... I dunno... drinking pop at a club.. or sneaking some pop in just seems... well lame.
I mean, when you're 15 sure... but hell, I wasn't going to clubs when I was 15.
I just paid off my credit card debt completely (as of this friday, automated bill payment) only to take out a 5k line of credit for school. That should be payable though by the end of December, especially since I'll be making 2x pay for a week for two consecutive weeks during the holidays.

There are plenty of agencies out there that will help you. Give them a call, they will cvall your creditors, asking them to freeze interest on all your current debt. They will also take a certain amount off you every month and make the payments to the companies. They do so for a very small fee.
Good luck. Keep your head up. It will get better.
