I can't get myself to play games after playing world of warcraft for 4 years...I did not even touched resident evil, street fighter, commander in chief and empire total war...after 5 minutes I get pissed for no reason and just turn it off and go back to surfing the web

Nope, no problems here.

I don't play all that much ... maybe 5-10 hours total during the week and about the same on the weekend (maybe 1/2 that if there is nothing "new" to play) ... so I guess that keeps me from feeling burnt out.

Yes. I needed to buy an x360 then and it helped.

So, since it;s a console arena... maybe you should buy a PC?

You're just saturated, it happens. You have shit to do, you have a life, games are losing priority. And since (I assume) you leech the best games, you lost your ability to appreciate 'just' good games. Try a genre you never tried before.

Think you hit the nail on the head man. I've tried all the genres i'm aware of though. I miss the release i would get from a good gaming session. Also, having buddies over for multiplayer. Only time i can play games for more then 5 minutes these days is at LAN.

it's call the law of diminishing returns. I get it a lot. It is great getting games for free, but you end up getting them all and you get saturated. Maybe buy a PS3 and pay for the odd game, you really appreciate the ones you buy and give them more time.

Can't believe I'm advocating buying PS3 games, must power down now........

Buying doesn't always help though, you'll just end up with a crappy feeling inside when you realize you've wasted money. Lowering your expectations is the only cure, but sadly that's easier said then done. We're just turning into 'l33t' snobs bacuse we can try anything. Not much can live up to our standards anymore. Appreciating a Ford isn't easy when you've driven a Ferrari two days ago.

You mean that lately games seem to be less "playable" than in the past?

Not really I just don't get into it as much. There have been some good releases in the last 6-7 months I just can't get into them. I used to just zone everything around me out and be into the game, now i can't seem to do that.

I had this problem back when I grabbed anything that came out.. Nowadays Im much more selective in my choices and purposely keep the gameload to those that absolutally appeal to me... It solved the problem for me at least.

I seem to have a problem where I feel the need to download and burn every game that comes out :/

Used to do the same thing with PC games as well...

I used to think this , but I have MGS4 , Drakes fortune and KZ2 sitting there left at varied states and can't be arsed to go back and play them , same with fallout3 , mirrors edge & cod:waw

last game I completed was fable 2 and never really enjoyed it as I laboured my way to the end because I had fond memories of the first . Last game I completed that I thoroughly enjoyed was shadow of colossus ( last year )

Im still playing GTA4..since it was released for PC..the cracked one..Not even 50% done. It will take me awhile to finish. I now just install 1 game at a time and remove it only after I complete it. Next up will be Fallout 3. My time is limited, so I end up only playing the game of the years..so like 1-2 games a year - but fully complete them. I also have a family, the WII, a job, and lots else to keep me busy,

same problem here, I can't really get into these simple minded games being dumbed down.

Bring back games like the original fallout, baldurs gate and shit. I am looking forward for the new kingdom under fire game coming out since their going back to it's original console style of play.

well i bought empire total war , finish 1 conquer the world , didnt pick it up again , download hankx , a bit fun , gonna try the last remmant or something , but , in the xbox 360 the game i play most is forza2 , now i bought a ps3 and orderer from asia initial d extreme stage , because i liked the manga anime series and the stage 4 arcade game also.
hopin to see forza 3 this summer and gt5 , and i start to realize that also have the feeling that very fwe games gimme satisfaction , well long away are the days of my spectrum 48k , 20 minutes of loading for a entire afternoon of fun playin the same game.

Same here, last game I really got into was cod4 multiplayer, and that was already about a year ago... I'm about 1/3 through Fallout 3, and while it is fun I just can't sit at it for longer than 2 hours...

My hopes are on Diablo3 Very Happy

Stick to a good online game is probably the key. Lots of good and addictive MMOs and FPSes
Anarchy Online is a good choice if you are into MMOs and tired grinding and wants something more.
FPS - Quake Live Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy COD4 gets boring after awhile imo.

But there are lots of decent SP console games you can have fun with. But I know what you mean. Gets boring. We see like 1-2 really "different" games every year. Its just not good enough...

It´s called growing up.I feel the same about games.

I think that the problem now like many said it´s dumbed down games.Console market have now a very wide audience and maybe in next years things change, but now seems a lot of games are for retarded people with little deep and stupid simple plot line.

Plus all already was made so little room for innovation.

If you are old enought and i mean the comodore or coleco vision times ,you already see it all refurbished again again and again.

Maybe buy a PS3 LOL That has got to be one of the most ill-advised recommendations for gamier disillusionment I have ever heard. Maybe its the games? The market has changed, its all about less mental effort and more immediate gratification. Just stick to the titles that are worth the time, there are still a few about.

i feel the same, i've started numerous game's, kinda accidentally spread myself thin, Fallout 3, Mercenarie's 2 and i almost started Prince of Persia, but when i get time, i'll finish Fallout, but my daughter and my woman, plus friend's take up alot of time, even spend time with my younger brother now, so it's a struggle to get into any game for more than 2 hour's, because i tend to convince myself the house need's cleaning or do something more productive with my time.
