yeah i found those links too but didnt really provide a solution. in the end i worked it out to be because i had the creature creator installed, and not ea download manager, so i just deleted the whole ea folder, reinstalled and that fixed the problem.
A new install was precicely what was needed, a install in the root of a harddisc and also before i started the game i set my resolution to 1024x768 so the game could recognize it and work properly.
