The hardest difficulty ending where Mona lives is considered the canonical, true ending. So she's still available for a sequel, but pretty much all the known villains died, yeah.

I'm gonna get lynched for this .. but I never actually finished the 2nd game :-\ I LOVED what I played of it, just as I loved the first one, but I never completed "Fall of Max Mayne" >_>
*downloads MP-FoMP right now, since I don't have my disks with me*
And yes, I own them both on original - but I'm currently living in Norway with my girlfriend and I didn't exactly plan on bringing my game collection, heh.

Max Payne could always turn into a character similar to the punisher. The story if you really think about it are almost exactly the same... For MP3 Max Payne could have moved far away learn of some evil kingpin that the law is afraid of and so Max Payne takes justice into his own hands.
Damn I should really start making video games...

yes I always noticed the similarities between the two characters , the noir and sadness is great and mp was one of the first games to introduce such deep stories and atmosphere to the video game industry
if they're gonna make a third one it better be good , the story could be the worst of the series or the opposite but sam lake better be there when the story is being written !

It was said in the credits for Max Payne 2 that there would be a Max Payne 3.

Of course Alan Wake still exists, but it has nothing to do with Max Payne. It is not a spiritual successor or otherwise.

Quote: | Perhaps you've noticed that our October issue of EGM is on its way out the doors of 1UP Manor and into your homes, and perhaps that bit of knowledge has left you wondering what's waiting for you in everyone's favorite section of the magazine: Quartermann! Well, since we know how much you love getting your monthly taste of gaming gossip, we're giving a sneak peek at some of the hottest rumors in this month's Qmann column.
We've been hearing for months that Max Payne 3 is in the works, but this month we got something a bit juicier to add to this rumor: Original Max Payne developers Remedy Entertainment are currently too busy working on Alan Wake to even consider developing the new Payne sequel. Instead, the next-gen noir shooter will be handled by the same internal Rockstar team that created The Warriors. |

Not sure if that's a good thing.
Is good Remedy is taking their time... 10 years no? With Alan Wake. I really can't wait for that game Max Payne by rockstar, same peeps that did warriors... really doesn't give me a hadron.

They have worked on it since 2004, about 4 years.

The Warriors was a PS2 game? Not a bad score from IGN, however, they do not qualify to make Max Payne 3 by a million years imo. They did the console port of Max Payne 1 for PS2, but a PS2 development team is not what we need here.

Of course id is not, you must be dumb to make such a comparison. However, Rockstar Toronto is still what I said above. All they have developed for is Wii and PS2. So again, as I said, they are not exactly what is needed for Max Payne 3.

Again, what exactly is keeping them from stepping up to a "current-gen" game?

Nothing it stopping them. I'm saying with their current track record they are not qualified, and they are not exactly what is needed. It's just my opinion.
Is that too hard to comprehend?

Do you doubt every developer's first game on a new generation of hardware?

Fanbois that won't give developers a chance. They keep forgetting that everyone has to start somewhere, and sometimes beginners can pleasantly surprise.

Indeed, and I actually think that Rockstar Toronto had good beginnings. They made GTA London 1969 wayyy back in 1999, The Warriors was outstanding, and their Wii ports of Manhunt 2 and Bully are really great, as well.

No I don't. Do you always assume things about other people?

They are not a new developer, though. I am just very sceptical about them handling Max Payne 3 - nothing to do with fanboyism (again with the assumptions).
