It's not a MG ZairdresserR.. Its not a VW..

Its french. Yes, I know I slated the fuck out of owning anything french. But my GF persuaded me to go see one locally.. and I fell in love.

Its a P1 1.6 16valve Renault Megane Coupe Smile

Picking it up tomorrow. Plan on modding the shit out of it to get a totally unique beast Very Happy

Pics tomorrow when I pick it up. I haven't been posting much around here lately, new girl and all is going well so spending a lot of time with her and have been working to save for my car which I now have so should be back posting regularly again soon Very Happy

its been fully serviced, only has 70k miles on the clock which is not too bad considering that its age, MOT'd til next year and just had the 70K standard cambelt change before anything goes wrong. New battery also just fitted with warranty still there too. Only thing that is gonna go on me hopefully is the tires.. The last owner was a mechanic and kept it in pristine condition inside/out. Its original color is flame red so im hoping I wont need to pay more to have it resprayed layers.

A guy at my old workplace had a 96 megane... so many technical errors. The speed dialer or what you guys call it stopped, problem with the oil pump, rust, problems with the power steering and the list goes on Razz

...but you could be in more luck tho. The 96 was a really bad year for Renault.

car looks sexy indeed Wink

Deelix is right though... The most unreliable cars are the French ones, while Renault is the worst of them all, but hopefully you'll be free of all these problems.

not familiar with your terms lol. The UK tends to have different words for those things. If you mean are all 1.6 litre models stolen? boosted means stolen here. Or if you mean engine mods, it has only standard engine.

Yes it has Halo/angel lights on the front, and tinted black Lexus coupe lights on the rear. Unfortunately those beautiful alloys are not included in my car buy Sad

When I can afford some, Im gonna put black chrome ones on it.

I think he means if they have turbo.
One of me regrets when i got my 1.6l A3 was that it lacked turbo. Great car, but nothing happens when you step on the gas pedal.

LoL. Boost is a universal term for forced induction/turbo. I haven't heard of someone "Boost" a car since the original fast and furious/gone in 60 seconds haha. I don't think anyone uses that term to steal cars anymore. Laughing

Well it's good the wheels don't come with the car because from what I understand the car is Front wheel drive. Anybody who puts staggered wheels on a FWD car is a moron. Laughing

When you get your new wheels make sure they are all the same size!

1st car?. No matter, i am sure she will do the job. Not one of my favourite cars but congrats none the less.
You could have waited for the new Mégane...but I am not sure it is nicer actually...well it's all relative anyway. What counts is that you are happy.

New Mégane Coupé as shown at Paris Motor Show earlier this month.

Um Im not sure you understood what I meant when I said staggered wheels. Look at the pics you posted of your car. The rears are bigger/wider than the fronts which is a big no no on a FWD car. I am suggesting you not do the same as the previous owner unless you prefer to upset the cars handling. Laughing

EDIT: So apparently the previous owner made a wheelbarrow.

Well for a first car it looks cool Very Happy The most important thing is that it drives, you'll fix other stuff when the time for it comes...

Laughing I drove it around before I bought it home and holy shit Shocked For my experience with cars its like stepping from a nissan micra into a ferrari speed wise ( i know that comparison is stupid but thats how it felt). I couldnt believe It when I put my foot down, I almost hit the curb 30 feet ahead from speeding Confused 1.6 16 Valve is not "that fast'' but from first impression and what im used to its gonna take a lot of getting used to Very Happy

Really nice to drive, engine is sound, interior is immaculate, great for my first car Very Happy

I laugh at you for thinking that car is fast.

Laugh Laugh.

I'm not a big fan on how those cars look (They look very ricey); and I haven't heard good things about their quality. However, I would assume it gets very good gas mileage - and it has decent horsepower for that little engine.
