I'm pretty sure I've narrowed down the problem to the fact I'm running 64 bit Windows but I haven't been able to locate any other information pertaining my problem.

Basically I start Battlefield 2 through Steam everything launches fine and everything works fine. Once I pick a server and everything is done loading I click "JOIN" then I get the kit selection screen and this is where my mouse cursor is simply stuck in the center of the screen. Everything has worked fine in 7 up to this point, anyone got any ideas?

Try running the game as administrator, and/or experimenting with the compatibility settings.

I'll give that a shot, but I remember in Windows 7 32bit I didn't have any problems at all...

Okay this is what I've tried so far...

Launching BF2 from Steam - result - Cannot move mouse
Launching normally from start menu - result - Cannot move mouse
Launching normally as Administrator - result - Cannot move mouse
Launching normally as Administrator w/ XPSP3 Compatibility - result - Cannot move mouse
Launching normally as w/ XPSP3 Compatibility - result - Cannot move mouse

So I'm pretty much at a loss here I have a Razor Diamondback and I'm using the following driver named "DB_win7_(compatible_only)_driver_v6.02_Eng.exe"

Similar thing happened to me once, but after I joined the game nothing would work. No mouse or keys.
Turns out that somehow all my key and mouse settings got erased. If I went into the configuration menu, everything was blank. I just had to reset them to the default settings and everything was good.
Go check your mouse settings in the game. Hope this helps.

-------

This is i found in some forum .
Try to check the settings in the game .
The topic of this thread in the forum was same problem like you have in battlefield 2 .
Someone else suggested to try to clean the usb connector but i guess he had another problem that cauz it .

Just go to the settings in the game of the game and reset them all to default then try the game see if its working then change resolution and stuff again . But first just reset all settings and cehck after reset to default that the mouse in the settings in the game is ok then just try to play the game to see is its working .

Tell me if its working for you .

What Bout09 said. If the mouse worked in the MENU and not in game how do you come to the conclusion it's the OS's fault? Check your configs.

i was just looking into EA download manager and BF2, there is info on the page about windows 7 so you may check that out. im pretty sure it was saying it is compatible, but there might be useful info there.

also, i would try deleting the BF2 found under my documents, that is where all the config settings are found, when you restart the game it will write the folder again. solves many problems with the game.

Ok well I think it has to do with the configs now too.

I have my controls.con backed up so I don't have to spend hours re-editing all the controls since I have a 360 joystick I use for flying and is not easy to configure. I'll try erasing my bf2 folder and joining a game that should work. If so then I'll just overwrite my controls.con and not the entire Profile folder as that also created problems with starting the game since for some reason if it doesn't like the resolution in the video.con it just crashes to desktop.

Thanks for rejogging my memory everyone, I'll report my results here as soon as I get the opportunity to give this a try.
