Be about an hour or so earlier in the airport give away your luggage at the check-in desk...then take the security check and then...sit back and relax until you are being called to board the plane.
Meanwhile you can wander around the duty free shops in the airport or just go to the gate and wait there.
EDIT:
Oh, and do not forget to change enough currency if you're going to a country which does not accept your currency
AND...do not change it in the airport...it'll cost you an arm and a leg Just do it today if you have to in a bank or currency exchange.
But I do not have my ID Card (I lost it) so I just have a lousy paper from the police station, with my picture and all the data, but it's just not the official card...
Hope it will be fine

if u just have a temporary passport from the police that is not enough to travel
u need to get another special card to get out of the country
i know cus i had to go get it the day before i left
Gonna have to agree with everyone else who says you NEED your passport to travel out of your country (at least when getting out of the airport in spain you will need it )

You are traveling in schengen space so as far as I know you dont an ID to cross the border, but you need an ID to board a plane. Do you have maybe the EU driving license or smth similiar that can confirm your identity/nationality? Actually even that paper from a police should work.
Though I am not 100% sure.
p.s You shouldnt have delayed this stuff to the last day
Yeah I know, but I bought my ticket yesterday, so it was impossible to do otherwise.
Anyway, I'm fucked. I delayed my trip until thuesday. I'll have my temporary passport (which is 100% valid for europe) on monday. So it's just postponed, but FUCK IT!

You can't carry on any bottles with liquid (there is a size limit) like shampoo. They have to be in a clear plastic bag. So that means contact solutions and such. Bottles of water I think you have to buy after the gate from a vendor and they send it to you after. When I flew from Vancouver to NY (US) that was how it was. Call your travel agent or the customer service of the airline to ask.
