I see that Yakuza 2 is a DVD9 disc. Before I go out and buy an expensive pack of DVDR DL, can someone please tell me how I can tell if my PS2 system will play a burned copy. I hear verbatim are really good for DL discs. I've used Sony, Verbatim and Maxell in the past for regular dvds on my ps2 with no problems. Please tell me if an older Modded PS2 will work with both Dual and Double Layer Burned games.

I know that some PS2 (FAT) have issues reading DVD9s. My friend was never able to play any games on DVD9, original or backup.

I have a slim with swap magic and i was never able to run God of War original on mine and never bother trying a backup DVD9 since most games had DVD5 rip

I have a question regarding DL speeds. I recently bought a 20-pack of Verbatim discs and it says they are speed 2.4x. A few months ago, I had a pack of verbatim discs but those had a speed of 8x. I never experienced any problems with those 8x discs. Will there be a difference in performance with these 2.4x discs?

Then Ive been buying the more expensive one for no reason. I didn't even know that 2 versions existed (8x and 2.4x). The 15-pack 8x verbs used to cost me $45.

I have a PS2 Slim V16 with Matrix Infinity v1.99, DVD9's work great without any slow downs or w/e. I use Verb DVD-R DL and burn at 4x. BTW Yakuza 2 is great but I need to complete the first game now.
