How long have you been wearing lenses? Would you not choose to wear glasses instead?

You just have to get used to it.. I blinked the first time i got lenses too, it would take like 10 mins per eye. Now i do both eyes in like 10 secs.
You your middle and index finger to hold your eyelids so you cannot blink, then put in the lens with your other hand, with the lens on you index finger.

I've been using lenses 2 years now.
Put them on, use them 4 weeks, take them off and take on some new.
These lenses are so thin and good that you don't even feel you got them on.
Before I started using these, I had those you had to take on in morning, and off in evening.
Those was terrible. I always had that feeling of having something big in my eye.
I hate you.

I have been wearing contacts since 16. I suggest taking re-wetting stuff with you in case they start to dry out.
I had a hard time at first but you find a way. I pull my bottom eye lid right down and look up so I don't see my finger. I usually stick a drop of solution on the inside of the contact so it sticks in there better. Then I blink slow not to knock it out.
I take mine out the wrong way. I stick my finger on my pupil and slid it off. You can scratch your eye this way but so far it has never happened to me.
I hate my contacts because they are always shifting on my eye and then I can't see. I have to move them back into place.

How you guys can put lenses in....man, I could NEVER do it. Nothing touches my eyes, nothing. And I remember I was swimming one time at my uncles place and one of his friends i guess forgot to take out his contacts and opened his eyes underwated and they like rolled back to the top of his eye.....fuck that shit.
I see why max would have to use them, but if your not in a line of work wear glasses are dangerous, id get glasses before contacts.
But thats me and I have this thing with my eyes....like i said, nothing touches them

I worked with a guy and he would get soo grossed out when I had to fix my contact by sticking my finger into my eye and moving it. What else could I do tho, I couldn't see. I felt like an idiot because he made such a big deal about it. I used to hide.

lol i dont care if other ppl do it
its just me personally, nothing will ever touch my eyes. Ive had metal in my eyes before and have had to have it removed and it was one of the toughest things ive had to do.
Im afraid im gunna go blind or something ya know? like if you scratch your cornea or whatever its called.
fuck that, nothing will ever touch my eye...well, intentionally.

it took me like 2 month to actually get them, the lady at the shop didn't wanted to let me walk out of the shop with them if i couldn't put them and take them off at least once in front of her.
It took me 3 appointments to actually manage to do it, I was absolutely freaked about touching my eye or putting anything on them and having to do it on the shop added to the stress!
I remember the day after I got them, it took me like 3 hours to take them out, I was panicking, my eyes were so red and swollen.
But after 1-2 month I really got used to them and now I really don't regret doing it, it's so much easier than wearing glasses.
Trust me if I manage to wear them you will, I was terrified of touching my eye...

I was just like you.
I have very very sensitive eyes, so if anything touches them, tears streams out.
But I would NOT get glasses, so I went to the eye-doc thingy and tried lenses.
It was very uncomfortable the first week, but got better and better.
It was still a bit annoying to have them in the eyes after some months, so I changed to those you have on 4 weeks without takin 'em off, and it was much better.
It doesnt feel like I'm having anything in my eyes.
And lenses are not glass pieces. It's some very very thin soft thingy.
I hate you.

Still, Ive had some close calls with my eyes because of the trade im in.
I dont want anything in my eyes. Especially since alot of the time I weld without a mask. I could just imagine my face is to close to weld and the contact melts on my eye or something.
Or I do something stupid and the contact rolls to the back of my eye or something....naw man
I'd get glasses.
The only way I'd wear contacts is if someone paid me a good amount of money to wear them. Kinda like an indecent proposal thing ya know? lol

Best lenses are daily lenses, put them in in the morning, and throw them away when you go to bed.
No hassle, no cleaning them, no eye inflammations.

Yeah, you should be careful if you're welding.
When I was welding, I was told to be very careful, because there was a small chance the lenses would melt on my eye
I hate you.

Yeah, thats what im afraid of. Or im cutting a piece of metal and you know how it is, sometimes your in a rush, you dont have your glasses on and shit gets in your eye. I could just imagine a piece of metal getting under the contact and being rubbed along my eye, scratching my eye.
Like I said, I'd go with glasses any day.

yeah, i bet
Ive been welding since i was 15, so thats 16 years. Ive done everything from production, to structural, to aerospace, to automobiles etc.
And Im much more than a simple welder man. Im a tradesman. I have licenses to operate just about every machine in a shop you'd find.
I just dont get two pieces of steel, put in a jig and weld it. I get a blueprint and raw material which I fashion into whatever needs to be done.

You should go get that scubadiving cert and weld underwater. Big bucks there I heard. Plus you are only down there for so long. You would prob live on the job site, no rent. |
ive looked into it but alot of the work is overseas in china and shit. And in water with sharks. tho you make about 120g's in 6months and you can only be down there for 2 hours a day but get paid for 8. Know a couple guys who have done it.
But its also really dangerous. Your working with high votlage underwater. So if the line breaks, your done. Alot of guys get electrocuted. Its hazardous work. I'd rather move to Alberta or even up north BC and work on the oil lines. Roughly the same amount of money and the same amount of time spent on the job, 6 months for a years pay.
Ive been offered to go out there but you live in the middle of no where and do nothing but work your ass off for however long your there.
I work to live, not live to work you know? And im not hurting for money so its not bad. I guess it would be a last resort sorta thing as the oil fields are gunna be in production for years to come but still...I like living in urban areas, not big on living in remote places.
