Ive been recommended anti-depressants; failing that counseling. I chose the latter.

I have a shit load on my chest and I think it will probably do me good in the end.. so I finally listened to her and agreed to let her put me down for the councilors..

Sad low.. but I guess things get better when you let them out; I shouldnt have bottled all my shit up and posted it on nforce for the past year.

We're fucked. If they keep posting at this rate the MySQL database will just say "fuck it" and shut down.

Lol im taking a good break from the net, not completely but im cutting my time on here by at least 75% because its bad for me to escape into the net all the time in my current state of mind.

So I guess I shall say I will speak to you all sometime soon Smile

and yes, seeking help should have been done a lot sooner than this. The doctor asked me why I hadnt and such if I felt low, she then did a quick check on my weight and took my blood pressure and stuff and immediately said I need to lower the stress levels.

be careful with the meds if they prescribe them ... some are very hard to get off of once you're on them and have a lot of withdrawal symptoms.

well, meds help, even if you dont believe in them. But as long as you think you can go without them, its ok. Hope counselling helps you and gives you new perspective on things. Best of luck with it =)

yeah I agree meds can be quite helpful. But make sure you understand exactly what you are getting.

One commonly prescribed drug here is Effexor which has really strong withdrawal symptoms as do other drugs in that class...

meds are definetly helpful

never heard of Effexor tho. Most people that I know are depressed get Remeron and that has like no side effects (aside from makes you a little drowsy) and no withdrawl symptoms at all.

Still, if you have a good doctor, the withdrawl is managed and your eased off the medication rather than cold turkey. Any doctor that takes you off medication such as antidepressents or medication you've been takin for an extended period of time cold turkey is a bad fuckin doctor imo

wait, wait. did i get that right? it's like: "here take these! otherwise go to counseling!"?
that's fucked up. i mean, if your counselor thinks it would be a worhty addition ok, but other way round is fucked up.
talking about shit definitely helps - when i was down with some shit i got a prescription for a mild anti-depressant that (check that) are suspected to harm your genetic material (what you pass on to your children - just clarifying that for myself) i found out about that stuff when i was down taking them. wouldn't have taken them otherwise.

Nothing wrong with a small dose of medication IMO. Sometimes it can get you back into the right habits. Like eating.

i agree but not without a healthy dose of talking (with a professional that is) i am not a friend of psych-medication without the proper amount of counseling.
i don't think i'd be any better if i hadn't had regular appointments with a Psychiatrist taht went along with it.
and i don't think Docs should put you on some heavy stuff - which some doctors tend to do
