I'm downloading stuff (not sure if I'm supposed to tell what) and I just can't get it over 100 kB/s. This makes me mad. Mad enough to start a thread about it. It's a new game, it says there's about 213 seeds and 2865 peers in the swarm but only picks up 10 seeds and 66 peers. why is that?! I opened up the port, bypassed the firewall, what am I supposed to do, WAIT?!

You can increase the amount of open connections in the client options, you could try that.

what version of windows your using ??
There is some patches available for windows xp which will enhance your tcp/ip protocol so you can have more connections ( which is a must have when you use torrents )

alright can't find the tcp ip protocol patch, don't have access to usenet, and wait, private trackers? how do you get those? Should I add newbie to my signature?

yeah, the speed with public trackers is often abysmal. Thats why there are alot good to great private trackers around, that enforce people to actually share and in return they ll get a speedy download usually.

Or just pay just a few bucks for rapidshare and download fom warez forums. Be careful with trojans though. Piss-easy, piss-cheap, very fast !!!

irc is horrendus... back in the day (like 96) it was decent enough when we were all on dialup but now, its like a last resort imo.
I'd rather work on gettin into a private tracker than turning to irc. Irc is just a tad better than p2p apps |

I just thought I would mention them as nobody else did I mainly use Usenet myself
but the more ways you can get Warez the better.
of course you could you use Frost but nobody uses it to my knowledge.

This tcp/ip patch does not increase the limit of connections... afaik there is no limit of connections. The limit this things increases is for half-open connections. This only affects your speed at which you are connection to others, which is helpful, but probably not in the way you want.
If you are using uTorrent, which i can only recommend, then you would need to increase its half-open connections as well, otherwise you will not see any difference.
Did you setup your torrent client according to your upload speed?
What internet connection do you have anyway? Torrents are kinda upload dependend.

I'm on 6 private trackers, 3 that are Swedish and I ALWAYS max my connection. No probs with torrents here.

RatioMaster maybe? but be careful, most of the best trackers are uncheatable.
