I have my nephew's thinkpad that I want to install some games on. Specs: Thinkpad R61 core2duo 2.4Ghz, intel 965 graphics, 1.5GB memory, vista ultimate, 14" 1280X800...

I'm installing some games now ( Portal, Spore ) and hoppying they play nicely.. He's not into FPS, but he like racing games, adventure, soccer. Which Flatout game should I download? What games would you guys/gals recommend that would run on this system? Which NFS version that'll work on this thing?

Portal is running fine, little hickups here and there, needs a bit more tweaking I guess; a good sign Smile

HA!!! I have that same laptop but an R60 with a Core Duo 1.8GHz. Ditch Vista and put XP, it'll help your games run more smoothly, plus it'll give you the options of going back a little further into gaming.

The Video really sucks, but mine maxes at 1024 resolution. If you keep your resolution semi down you'll be able to run quite a bit. I use my game mainly for Isometric games. It loves them with a passion. Baldurs gate, tycoon games, the old GTA's, it handled max payne very well, it LOVES LOVES LOVES the lego games so if he's a kid, he'll FUCKING LOVE THEM. Im almost 22 and I love them so cmon lol.

I really say start him out with the lego batman one, it's on it's own story. Indianna jones and the star wars are based off the movies, and the legos don't talk so it's really hard to grasp the story (if he's old enough to comprehend such anyways) but batman is all out batman rocking ass on it's own story of batman....kicking ass lol.

Flatout 2 might work, it has decent pretty gfx but might have to turn down quite a few options, need for speeds really suck now days, the only ones worth playing were the undergrounds JUST because you could actually fuck with your car settings but it's all shitty 4 cylinder cars or cars that are total ricer.

The fallout games (to complex for him?) too are awesome to play since the low res is there already, but those are also isometric.

I'd try the Total War games. Not alot of video hardware required and they are fun as hell.
