Good to hear--loved GRID (the first one), didn't really get into 2. Smile

Im on 3rd season and I honestly think its a step in the wrong direction. This is "GRID tries to be forza/grand turismo". I had more fun with the first game, and it looks and feels about the same too.

Well, there are lots of different types of races and tracks, but this is just another racing track game Sad

Horizon 2 and Project Cars can't come fast enough! (Fuck driveclub!!!)

Because of what I saw from people playing it at E3. Looks amazing, but its a car game... and when the handling looks shit and the damage model is non existent, so im not that hyped anymore Sad Might get the semi-free version with playstation+

For what it's worth though, I'm actually looking forward to this when I come home, even if they are moving towards the Forza/GT style, it can't be any worse than GRID2 Smile

It's better then the previous ones and pretty comparable to Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo series... definitely worth a disc.

people playing it at E3 were complete retards, if you didn't notice. and you are comparing forza horizon 2 glorified trailer vs driveclub shaky cam gameplay by retards, that's not a fair comparison now is it? Laughing

I see how you automatically thought I compared Horizon 2 with Driveclub, im not doing that of course. Even tho it seems to be a fair comparison after seeing gameplay from Driveclub.

Horizon 2 is as arcade as it gets, but the first one was really fun and beats NFS series easily.
This should be more of the same stuff, and what we saw from REAL gameplay (not talking about the trailer now) looked pretty fun Smile

But back to driveclub... the people playing it being retards doesn't really change how arcade it looked. What is kinda cool is that they went to Norway to make some of their tracks Very Happy

They're both arcade racers (despite what Driveclub's dev claims, there's little sim in there). But look at that video and compare it to the similar off-screen videos from Driveclub. Driveclub's cars seem to float, they're disconnected from the road. And as I said before, it has no sense of speed whatsoever.

This exactly. All racing videogames on consoles are arcade racers. Then people fight each other which one is less arcade. The only racing game on consoles I remember having many sim driving elements is Formula One Championship Edition.

Well from what I hear, Forza's (not Horizon) handling actually has lots of sim elements. Still lacks the damage model though. I can't really comment on that since I don't an Xbox Razz

Its because of my expectations. I had such high hopes for driveclub, now im much more hyped about Project cars as a simulator.

That all sounds good.

"Bluntly inaccessible" and "ridiculous learning curve" Aww Yeah

Derptaku Reaction

Every other site says it's pretty much like GRID 1. Now, I don't know about you guys, but that was perfectly accessible. Their problem with it is that you start in shit cars instead of starting in super cars straight away. And you actually have to work a bit to get to the front of the pack. Sounds all good to me as I enjoyed GRID 1 for what it was.

A GRID 1-level game with Forza-style progression and openness would be fantastic to me. I was tempted to grab the 360 version while I'm away but egh, I might as well just wait until I'm back:)
