So Ive had some bad injuries in my day. But fuck, im gettin old and my body has had its share of torment

Anyway, I fell asleep today around 3pm on my right side, woke up at 5pm. As sson as I tried to lift myself up, I felt a shooting pain go from under my shoulder blade (theirs a pressure point in there) up through my neck and into and around to the front of my head. Now, Ive had this sorta injury before from martial arts and i tried the regular remedies - hot cold therapy, massage, pressure point therapy, stretching the muscle out and finally i sat in the shower for an hour with the water on boiling hot (which worked till i got out of the shower). So I figured id take a few painkillers, well, I took enough that should have put me to sleep for a day and the pain is still hurting. not as bad as it was, but its still throbbing, its just numbed out by the painkillers and they are gunna wear off eventually

So anyone here who works out have any remedies I didnt mention for strained/pulled muscles? Cause im fine for now, but i cant take anymore painkillers, ive taken quite alot. i should be really high but because of how bad the pain is, i dont feel a thing besides the throbbing.
I figured I'd ask here cause i know some of you guys work out and probably have your own methods to heal severly strained muscles.

Actually I know for a fact that doesnt work for strained muscles. Sometimes makes it worse.
Plus, with the amount of painkillers ive taken, i wouldnt want to mix.
One of the painkillers ive taken is equal to 16 percocets, ive taken 6. I should be flying but a) i have a high tolerance for drugs and b) the pain is just, i cant describe it. Ive had this happen before, but never this bad. My dad swung by after work around 6pm and massaged my neck and back for a good 20 mins and usually his massages do the trick (he learned how to give like the best massages while he was in rehab after he got hurt) but fuck. It helped a bit, but its still hurting.

And fuck, I wanna play the new BIA tonite and i cant if my back and neck are still throbbing. If the throbbing went away id be cool, i have a good deal of pain tolerance but i cant take shit that throbs...whether its a headache or strained muscles etc i cant take throbbing pain, its the worst for me.

I would suggest nothing. Sometimes I think taking pain killers can make it worse because then you don't feel the pain and you end up doing stuff maybe you shouldn't. I remember I really strained my hip flexer and I took pain killers so I could do a shit load of work. The next day it was even worse. Sometimes pain is a way your body is telling you to rest.

lol i hate tea. nasty crap. only coffee.

Anyway, went to the doctor and I have a pinched nerve in my back and some strained muscles. Must have done something while i was sleeping. He gave me some anti inflamatories and said just keep talking the painkillers i take regularly and rest my arm/back plenty for a couple of weeks. If it doesnt get better, come back.

It doesnt hurt that bad when I keep my shoulder back and or straight, it hurts when I extend my arm fully and expose the nerve and extend the muscles. So Ive just been sitting straighter, laying down alot and not sleeping with my arm under my head (which is how I like to sleep).
