yea.....they should release Bioshock 2 + 3 before deciding on 3-4 sequels. I think the thing that made Bioshock awesome was the depth of the game, like the audio recordings. That type of thing must have taken years to implement. The first game was delayed numerous times, and for good reason. It sounds like they ARE trying to "cash in" as they deny.
i tried the demo and lilked it but i never finished the full game and sold it. It was one of those games where you have too much to do. You spend a lot of time upgrading your char, his specs etc, and i really don't like that in games.
it's too bad because i really liked the environment and atmosphere of the world and was really interested, but i usually play for 30min (max 1h) at a time. and bioshock wasn't made to be played that way
I'm one of the few people that never finished the first Bioshock.. I didn't think it was a bad game, i just lost interest...
Perhaps it was the awkward controls. I ended up finishing it but didn't care much for the story and I didnt feel great afterward.
Bioshock is one of those games that I feel like im SUPPOSED to like but I just didn't enjoy it all that much. Especially in that enclosed garden level. It was confusing and annoying.

i like how ppl bitch about complexity of bioshock, now wonder most nowadays games are so dumb down and degraded
they were saying it's too simple, not too complex...unless your talking about somewhere else. Personally I like the originiality, and whole dark awkward feeling that makes it different from other games.
But yeah more open ended and varied environments would be aweseommme.

Bioshock was way too simplified for my taste. I hope the second one will be a bit more complex and offer more RPG elements.
Yeah, I'd love more complexity as well, also, I'd like some more exploration options.
Imagine having a more open/free roaming concept to Bioshock. Not saying it should be massive like gta or fallout 3, but large city parts that you explore, and like 50% of the place is unrelated to the quest or mission you're on, but can still reward you for exploring. Wouldn't that be awesome? Bioshock had a little bit of side exploring, but it was still a very linear game, though imo, it was good linear.
But still, damn, Rapture has so much potential as a semi free roaming city.
nice idea, but - sadly - it probably wouldn't work. you either make fallout or FEAR, everything else just ends up crappy or with a development time of around 10 years (and maybe gets scrapped). not that i'm against games breaking new ground, but i'd rather have a solid, focused one that knows that it wants to be instead of a failed experiment where the devs set their goals too high.
Maybe no in the scope of fallout or gta but more puzzles using things in the environment combining them, more exploring, more moments just to stop and see the enviorments, not another dummy shot and run.
