went to go install sacred II on my thinkpad when I discovered i didn't have enough space. Which is odd considering i have a 50GB HD and I only had the demo for it installed. it says I have only 10GB free, I have a hidden partition for 4 gb, if I open the C:, highlight everything and click properties and see how much space everything is taking up it only shows 4GB
I remember years ago running checkdisk or something would fix the problem of it showing the wrong amount but I can't even do that. I get some error message saying
"file system is NTFS. Cannot open volume for direct access. Windows has finished checking the disk."
tried it through command prompt and through the GUI.
You're going through the "drive properties" followed by "tools" and then "error checking" right? If that doesnt work, I'd try a boot image of partition magic or something similar..run the error checking software before windows starts..See if it finds anything.
